strange tidbit of information.... a short time after receiving this hide to
start working on there was an item in the newspaper about africans
contacting strange diseases while working on animal hides there...
The Doctor assured me that these hides were tanned in the approiate way!

Maeshin, get yourself a good cutting surface, check out the Offla cutting mat sold at the
fabric shops. while you are there take a look at the offla cutters.
Get a good straight edge.
Thin or light weght leather is not easy to cut with a Pull thru cutter.
you will like the roller cutter.
Quivers that were made from an Elan Hide that was killed in Africa
by a DOCTOR that hunts only with a Bow & Arrow.
the hide was tanned there..... and not with URINE,

Thank you.. it amazes me some times what i have accumlated
over these good 30+ years........and still finding items i think i need.
that mallet started out at a 2-3/4 x 4" it has been trimed down 2 times.
Ed if i were you i would forgo the rawhide mallet, and find one of the older
rawhide mauls. they are heavy and mine works better than the mallet.
Thanks Mike.... the stiching that is over the instep enables the mock to fit
the shape of your foot. after a period of wear they will fit like any other Mock.

REGIS when i do my holsters , the front of the rear site will rest on the top of the holster,
with mabey just a tad of clearance. after all it is an adjustable site ,dont want it being
bumped too much.
