    Those were some very sharp bends...I would have oiled it very well or used Latigo leather to make the leash.

    Mix some glycrin & achol 50-50 wash the skin in that, lay it out flat to dry ,then glue veg tan leather to the skin. you'll be fine.....

    Gunther...Hello there.....If you get the book "Making Holsters" by Al Stolhman your problem will be solved. I think there is a pattern for a 1911 in the book.

    What i do is to Cut one piece to the exact shape.....then glue that piece to a piece of leather then cut that piece to the shape of the first piece that you cut out.
