    yes it tightens the leather to the thread.

    If i were you i would take some leather with me and try both machines out before i bought either one. If you dont .......you might be sorry.. Also take the size thread that you will be using.......

    If the buckle set came from tandy they have a package of screws to sell you. this has happened to me before.

    Gunter, try this. the local shoe repair man should have this product, it is in a 4-oz bottle It is called Shoe Strech. dip the snake skin in it, let the skin absorb all it will, lay the skin out flat to dry. this is a mixture of glycren & alcahol...(pardon the spelling)

    I backstich farther, burn the ends on the inside or apply super glue to the ends,it will also help to pound the threads with a smooth hammer.

    Whats gone is gone....use the items as a pattern and cut new pieces......then put it together and show us what you did.........

    I beleive if you call it a HOLSTER then do your search something will come up. there is a pattern at Tandy for a Percusian Relvor that will work for you. also mix up a batch of vinnagaroon for the dye. then sew with linnen thread. that is as close as you can get. I M H O.....

    one of the main things to consider is, make sure the lining is a strong material, the lining will be the strength in that jacket.
