ED............imho. i have been told that the 346 thread on top or bobbin is designed to be used in a Needle & Awl machine. i have tried it in my Sewmo and it pushes it to the limit with veg tanned leather thicker than 9 oz. I will use 277 & 207 have no problems... then again i have no problem with sewing Latigo or thick chrome tanned leather with 346 thread.
  2. I must consider my self lucky to be the owner of 125 pcs of Craftools Pre 1970..... Yacklady the Mcmillan tools on e-bay are one arm and two legs. i have several of them , and they are a quality product. no i did not get them from e-bay, got them from and old Hippie...
  3. HEY REGIS...277 works great for me on my Sewmo and in the Bobbin if i need it.most of the time 277-top 207-bottom

  6. hello Luis.. the Book is not about Making Holsters. It is the History and development of holsters.If you want to learn about the Buscadro gun belt and one holster His DVDS ARE A GOOD INVESTMENT. no they will not tell you how to make a lot of holsters and gun belts. But with leather knowledge and some holster making experience, it will put you up to the top. A good book on holsters can be found at Tandys it is "THE AL STOLHMAN BOOK ON MAKING HOLSTERS. hope this helps...
  7. buffalo, how do you like that Wickett & Craig leather? i bought a side last week and i hope i dont have to buy any more Tandy Leather for high dollar projects.
  8. ed. hate to say this... but if you have to keep changing things back and forth ... more machines are in your future....
  9. ED i do on my sewmo. imagin the stirup plate is about 1/2" tall and if i dont loosen th tension on the needle bar it puts too much pressure on what i am sewing.

  11. Tiffany, i have not seen Double backs, but i do know there are Double Butts and Wickett & Craig will split it to the thickness that you require. hope this helps.
  12. Freak this is one of 3 black Belts that i outlined the lettering with a dulited white cova acrlic,I had a hard time getting the white off the black dye. and I dont want go thru that again.

  14. I do have for sale a Tandy Imprinting Machine. only extra is the Ram foot that is used with the alphabets and the 3-d stamps. excellent condition and is one of the later models, it is heavy. $175.00 plus the shipping charges.
  15. I would like to add that the shoulders or double shoulders are good also. Tandy will run them on sale and sometimes one can find excellent pcs
  16. JOHN & WARREN, THOUGHT TO PONDER. this has happened to me before before you start cutting the belt strips, * measure the inside width of the buckle , to make sure that an 1-1/2" belt will fit.

  23. RSG3... I really dont know about all the sewing machine numbers. But the Sewmo Brand is a good machine, i know 4 people that has them. mine is the 205-370, it has served me well for holsters,double belts,knife sheath.and saddle repair. it is a copy of the ADLER ...I M H O. the folks at Industrial Sewing Sales in Ohio are very helpful.
  24. LEATHER BUM WHEN I SHARPEN MINE I HAVE A LEATHER DISC EMPERGNATED WITH BUFFING COUMPOUND IT BRINGS THE EDGE BACK FOR ME. BROWN SHARPENS AND THEN THE RED WILL POLISH..

Stephanie. when i patch a "1"hole," cut the patch larger than the hole, skive the edges 1/4 '' glue only the edge, so it dont show from the front, then just punch the stiching holes and do a simple running stich. check out CRAZY CROW trading post, they have a lot of Bead strips that you can sew on your shirts, hope this helps .. My clothes portray a white man and i dont see the need for the decoration of Bead Work for me. But there is a lot of folks that do like their clothes with the decorations...
