thanks guys!!! the seat was not bad at all. the bag had taken me quite a bit more time than i expected but, i kinda made it up as i went. the main part of the bag is about 10' of saddle stitching and i was supprised to be able to knock that part of it out in 5 hours or so. i can saddle stitch at about 2' an hour right now thanks Johann! should be finished up some time next week.

This project has taken quite a bit of time! I was supposed to get to this one back in march but, had too many issues with my day job and the ol's health. it's been hard taking care of the jobs i have coming in and catching up on overdue stuff. i am finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel!!! anywho... this seat has 1.5" of push added along with a polymer insert the p-pad also had a polymer insert. both are mexican round braid laced. the bag(s) the large one is 11" wide 12" tall and 5" deep. it's fully lined, reinforced ans saddle stitched. i also made a mold and wet moulded the gussets. the small bag (tool bag) attaches to the large bag with pull snaps so it is removable. it is also lined, reiforced and saddle stitched with the gussets wet molded in a plywood mold. i am rather happy with the bag as it is the first i have done like this and the first one to be completely saddle stitched. i hope to start the dye work some time today. i have another set (seat and p-pad) with the seat getting a polymer insert to start today and have back in the mail by next weekend so the dye work will be done inbetween. the tooling will be black with the rest being faded from buskskin to mahogany to saddle tan.

very classy looking seat david! i like the contrast of textures using the suade but wonder how it will hold up over time

what are you calling a chopper style pan?? are you referring to a sprung solo? just glue the cover together and let it dry good before stabbing the holes and stitching

roo is really the way to go but florentine will do the job. i have seen some done with latigo using a whip stitch.

looks good! let's see it in leather

man you have one heck of a lot of lacing in that little seat! well done

thanks! i am pretty happy with it thanks David! been real busy trying to catch up on a bunch of work and getting some "i need it asap!" work from some regular customers. this seat has in in process since the beginning of the year. i am finally digging myself out of the hole i have been in since earlyer this year. i am finally taking on some new orders that i had put off the last two three months. no shoe polish on this seat. haven't tried anything but google as i have had good luck finding what i need. as far as the dye goes.... i learned quite some time ago to use an airbrush to apply my dye. there is way more comtrol and you don't need a top of the line airbrush to get the job done. if you have any other questions, let me know and i will do what i can to answer them

thanks guys! spinner.. there are plenty of pics if you search with Google. most all the dragons i have seen are jap style and i wanted to do something different. i will post a couple pics of the bike once i get them. this thing has some crazy sheet metal

thanks Kate! i'm glad he didn't want to see that piece go to waste! i had about 7 hours into the tooling. it killed to me have to do it over just because of the time involved. here is the stamp. really nothing to it and i need to make a smaller one but, it did the job. sorry the cloesup is not clearer... the camera wants to focus on the leather below.

this one was a bit of a nightmare as i forgot about a mod i needed to make to the seat and ended up having to tool a second top. at least the customer does not want the first one to go to waste so i will be lacing on the back of a vest or jacket for him some time in the future. made my own tool for the scales from a large stainless nail.

that one looks like a bit of a challenge to cover! i would go either buckskin or saddle tan color dye with an orange bike
