  1. Oh, I love the design on both sides and those edges are so smooth. Your dad is going to LOVE it!
  2. Not a bad idea to hand out to those special customers. Everybody likes the feel and smell of leather!
  3. Portraits are hard to do...period...first of all you want them to be recognizable. I would be hard pressed to even attempt that type of request. Good luck on presenting them to her.
  4. I've had Springfield kangaroo lace but I really like Y-Knot lace the best. Sometimes she's out of some of the colors or sizes so I was just wanting a back up source. Thanks guys
  5. I don't know a thing about rope work but I like your braiding job. I love to lace. Where do you purchase your kangaroo lace?
  6. Welcome! Ditto on all the above.
  7. Isn't it nice to be able to have a one of a kind cover made by you? Great design! Once you get your design refined I'm sure you'll be making another one.
  8. I'll be more careful with my description from now on Aaron.
  9. Ha, I agree with you Stealfdawg. I like your idea of the shaped holes. I hadn't thought of that. The prototype was to match a seat I had done in the past. Otherwise it would be wise to step it up and make it a showy piece. So do most tie down their battery? I've seen straps before but didn't know how they were attached. Sorry to disappoint you Aaron! Oops, I posted wrong...Sorry to disappoint you Aaron!
  10. Stealfdawg, For sure figuring out all the pros and cons is going to be interesting. I was wanting to make just a cap instead of going all the way around it but making sure a cap stays in place while riding didn't sound smart. I do know that the elements are going to be hard on the leather so maybe only show bikes will be interested in this type of accessory. Just playing around trying to come up with some other acessories. Thanks for your opinion!
  11. Trying to come up with a good fitting bra for a battery. Here is the start. I used lightweight milled veg-tan leather and 1/8" lace to practice with. I have a couple other ideas but need to refine them.
  12. Thanks Steve, I'll remember that! I'm pretty careful with the mallet so I'll take care of the stamp.
  13. I'm sure it's made for a press but I hammer it! It's quick and easy.
  14. For starters, go to Tandy's website. The tools will be similar and they have lots of how-to videos. You will learn some basics that will get you started in the right direction. I only have Craft tool stamps and get along o.k. You might want to learn with the cheap ones first.
