  1. Welcome! Ditto on all the above.
  2. Nice job...can't wait to see your seat!
  3. Isn't it nice to be able to have a one of a kind cover made by you? Great design! Once you get your design refined I'm sure you'll be making another one.
  4. I'll be more careful with my description from now on Aaron.
  5. Ha, I agree with you Stealfdawg. I like your idea of the shaped holes. I hadn't thought of that. The prototype was to match a seat I had done in the past. Otherwise it would be wise to step it up and make it a showy piece. So do most tie down their battery? I've seen straps before but didn't know how they were attached. Sorry to disappoint you Aaron! Oops, I posted wrong...Sorry to disappoint you Aaron!
  6. Stealfdawg, For sure figuring out all the pros and cons is going to be interesting. I was wanting to make just a cap instead of going all the way around it but making sure a cap stays in place while riding didn't sound smart. I do know that the elements are going to be hard on the leather so maybe only show bikes will be interested in this type of accessory. Just playing around trying to come up with some other acessories. Thanks for your opinion!
  7. Trying to come up with a good fitting bra for a battery. Here is the start. I used lightweight milled veg-tan leather and 1/8" lace to practice with. I have a couple other ideas but need to refine them.
  8. Thanks Steve, I'll remember that! I'm pretty careful with the mallet so I'll take care of the stamp.
  9. I'm sure it's made for a press but I hammer it! It's quick and easy.
  10. For starters, go to Tandy's website. The tools will be similar and they have lots of how-to videos. You will learn some basics that will get you started in the right direction. I only have Craft tool stamps and get along o.k. You might want to learn with the cheap ones first.
  11. Wow!!
  12. Wish I had a 1000 bucks! Looks very nice.
  13. Cool Chief! Even if it is tan.
  14. Averya, go here. www.etsy.com/listing/55721686/leather-embossing-dies Odin, It is a composite I believe. Feels like a hard plastic.
  15. Well....this name is for my motorcycle seat business. My husband came up with the name. Yes, I do have interesting clientele.
  16. Just got my new maker's mark yesterday...Just perfect...Overall measurement 2". $35 + $5 shipping.
  17. Welcome Cozee! Sounds like you're a jack of all trades and not a bad thing!! Good luck in starting up in leather work. We'll be waiting to see some project photos.
  18. Welcome. Nice looking whip ...would like to see more of your other projects as I'm sure others would too. Curious as to how much lace it takes for a project like a whip. I'm sure it's a lot.
  19. Welcome...I don't know anything about the construction of holsters but I love seeing the posted photos on this site. You look like you're doing a good job. I also like beading.
  20. Nice...she looks like she's enjoying it!
  21. Superb wallet! Where are you getting the interior material? I can't find anything with the wow factor.
