  1. Hi Billy, Your carving looks WONDERFUL! Did you have trouble dying the piece? It's a little blotchy. I've had that problem in the past. Usually at the end of a project the dying process in intimidating. Just antiquing would have made the carving really stand out. The dying will come along with each project. Good luck on your next one!
  2. Yes, you're using a figure carving tool. Tnawrot2 is right. Get a Tandy catalog. I have an old version Tandy catalog which lists many more tools and shows each impression.
  3. Nice book! I'm sure they'll treasure it! As far as ending the lacing go back to the instructions and make sure every step is taken. I know that it's not easy to end. It's been a struggle for me in the past.
