  1. I love your carved design on the front! I'd like to get away from the kits too but there's a lot to figure out if I want to make changes.
  2. Very nice seat!
  3. Well Bobby, I was just changing it up for the style of the bike... I usually do the triple stitch. Haven't done the mexican round yet. Maybe on the next one.
  4. BEAUTIFUL!
  5. Cool! It will be interesting to see some of your work. I like the look of western firearms.
  6. Great work!! Welcome!
  7. Shading is done around the cards now and ready for leather balm.
  8. Sorry, yes Fiebings alcohol dye!
  9. I haven't done any braiding. Just lacing. That seems weird that it would bleed out. You say it's stiff right off the roll? And in your other post did you say you got it from Springfield leather? I've not had that happen from the rolls I've gotten from Springfield. My only thought is the lexol is releasing the dye. Can you braid without putting anything on it?
  10. Thanks for the comments...I'm going to finish up by some shading on the cards and then leather balm it. I have warned the customer about color staying. He has another seat of mine that he'll be switching back and forth and hopefully it will last for a while. I haven't used Tan Kote. As far as the coloring procedure I taped off the cards and airbrushed the green on first then took the black around the edges to finish up.
  11. Just about finished. Airbrushed the color on this one. I think it turned out pretty good.
  12. I don't know anything about guns or holsters but they look very nice. I'm looking for a machine too. Welcome to the forum!
  13. Wow, lucky winner! Nice job!
  14. Welcome! There's usually a lot going on here.
  15. Foamforyou.com They have all types!
  16. Nice work! Can't wait to see more!
  17. Nice coloring, and I like how the peddles come up over the center of the sunflower.
  18. Love it!
  19. Interesting chairs Chancey, you're right about old growth wood. Nothing like it now a days. Amuckart, interesting website on period furniture. Makes me appreciate the comfortable furniture of today! Intricate work by some talented people back then.
  20. Togn, I don't think you can ever completely water resist leather. Just keeping a leather balm applied will help though.
  21. My guess is push it into shape like a vacuum press rather than using a rubbing action like you're giving it a massage. My thought is it's friction. I've had that problem too and when I don't force it the leather comes out better.
  22. Welcome, It will be interesting in seeing some of your work!
