Foamforyou.com They have neoprene at good prices. Quick shipping too. I believe they have 1/8". I just bought 1/4".

It sounds like the tying method would be easier to achieve. I only use daubers for the edges so I don't use many. My main material for dying is old cotton t-shirts or the wool cuttings. Good luck on coming up with a way to make them.

I think you're reinventing the wheel...it's not cost prohibitive either. Just my opinion.

Another Seat And A Lacing Question
benlilly1 replied to Josiah's topic in Motorcycles and Biker Gear
It doesn't look too bad....I'm getting ready to use 1/4" lacing on a seat and I'm going to punch 3/16" holes. We'll see how it turns out. I see it looks like you dyed after you laced. I know a lot of people do. Most of the time I do it before lacing and do my antiquing air brush work after. I don't like to see blond areas between the lace. -
I do a lot of looking too ! Nothing wrong with that. Welcome!

Lovely bag! Nice color too! -
Denise, I too had that problem. I've used every anti-virus out there. Ended up with Viper. Excellent anti-virus. As far as the constant running we downloaded AdBlock Plus. My running problems ended after this was installed and I'm not barraged with advertisements.

Newspaper Feature On Andy Bates Leatherwork, Uk

Andy, Nice article! Would love to see your shop. Sounds like your business is doing well. Nice web site too! -
Do you have a lacing book it will show the procedure? You skive down the adjoining ends and glue together. Skive the front of one and the back of the other. It's not hard if you have a sharp razor blade. Some lacing techniques show how to lace without attaching either end! .

Welcome...I've been leatherworking for a year now. I too am starting this up after so many years of doing other types of work. My dad used to do leatherworking and I received a few of his tools when he passed. What's funny is I never had an interest back then but wished I had payed attention. I do enjoy learning and I have more to learn. This is a good place to be. Visit often!

Allen, Here's a poor man's way that I take photos...Take your items outside and photograph with NO flash. Inside will work if you're near a window.....it's the flash that's the problem. Also go to www.picmonkey.com and you can adjust all your photos and even resize them. I use this website for my photos. It's great! And it's FREE! By the way, your items look fine...good luck with Etsy!

Yep, I get you on the stretch and fray issue! I've been running 6 ft. lengths... guess I'll be splicing more. Hope you've been keeping busy!

Cool tips Pete! Here's one that I'll share.... If you're lacing anything like a wallet or motorcycle seat where you have lots of length I use bread twist ties for holding the leather together while lacing. I know some use lace and tie it or zip ties. The bread twist ties are easy to put on and take off AND CHEAP!

Well, I said alot of words in between a few stitches....I guess my main problem was holding the leather while stitching and the lace getting wound around my feet and my knees and my dog. No just kidding about the dog. Thanks Chris with your help on the lacing. I'm glad you responded before I started.

Just finished...Not my specialty. Had to make my own pattern. Seat pan made by the owner.

Hi Ivarian, Did you cut the design in with a swivel knife or is that what you mean by tolling?
