Thanks guys... I used 1/4" lacing with 1/4' slots made by a sharpened stainless steel screw driver. I praciticed making holes with a round hole punch and I didn't like the look . I really like using the 1/4" lace. It looks beefy. AND THE LACING GOES FASTER!
Welcome Brian, Wow, I think I want to go look around your Grandfather's shop too! Are you planning on selling any of his leather work tools? This would be a good place to do it!
Just thought I would ask if anyone else is concerned about leather prices going up due to the weather? The midwest is in dire need of rain. We have water usage bans here in Indiana. Food prices will be increasing. Corn and bean crops here look very sad. I figure the trickle effect will influence leather prices. I think I might stock up.
It sounds like the tying method would be easier to achieve. I only use daubers for the edges so I don't use many. My main material for dying is old cotton t-shirts or the wool cuttings. Good luck on coming up with a way to make them.
It doesn't look too bad....I'm getting ready to use 1/4" lacing on a seat and I'm going to punch 3/16" holes. We'll see how it turns out. I see it looks like you dyed after you laced. I know a lot of people do. Most of the time I do it before lacing and do my antiquing air brush work after. I don't like to see blond areas between the lace.
Denise, I too had that problem. I've used every anti-virus out there. Ended up with Viper. Excellent anti-virus. As far as the constant running we downloaded AdBlock Plus. My running problems ended after this was installed and I'm not barraged with advertisements.
