  4. I think they'd be a hit! You know it gets wild and crazy at Stugis!
  5. THAT IS BEAUTIFUL! I love the pleated area behind the zipper. Looks like it's easier to access. I also love the design.
  6. Nice work, Tree Reaper. Those are called 'Money Plant'. When the plant dries for fall it looks like it has coins on it.
  7. Yes, you did post them. And they look AWESOME!
  8. I stumbled upon this site about 21 months ago. I have learned a lot from Leatherworker. But for the newcomers I have noticed it's important to get the right information...right from the start....from the right people...with the right knowledge. I know not everyone has a talent for leather. So when questions arise from someone that could be good at leather work, you hope they get the right information. I've noticed in a few posts (and just a few) that answers being posted are mere guesses or suggestions without proof. --That just sends people in the wrong direction -- My suggestion for the future newcomer is to check out the info given. To prove that the info is right I usually go to profiles, members websites and look at all product that has been made and to see if they know what they're talking about. This for me is how I've advanced in leather work. There are some GREAT leather workers here...the newcomers need to seek them out!
  9. Awesome seat!
  10. I know for me...I always case my leather. I never just wet it with a sponge. With this method I'm sure of having a good outcome for stamping. Make sure it's back to the natural color. It may seem like it's too dry but in reality the center is just right to take the impressions. If it still feels cool to your face it's ready to go!! Good luck on your next project.

Photo turned out fine...nice looking work! The forming looks really good. I understand what you're saying about wanting them to snap. Maybe using a little resist in some of the areas might do it for you. It sure is a learning experience.
  13. Nice..you did a great job carving and tooling. What lace technique is it? A criss cross?
  14. Between 7-10oz. works good.
  15. Welcome...from another Hoosier up north! Good luck on your project. We'll be waiting for photos.
  16. Well, we'll see. I told him to use and abuse it. The Cova colors are very easy to apply and they cover well. I tried scratching it off with my fingernail on a practice piece and couldn't do it.
  17. I bought these punches used off Ebay. I have to hit way too many times to get them to cut the holes. Is there a way to sharpen these so I can use them?
  18. Nice...I like it!
