  1. welcome aboard. Let me know if I can help from my little shop in Dallas. cheers!
  2. I used a jewelers work bench as my station at my flea market gig. I used one of these Saddle seat barstools. 29" tall.
  3. I wouldn't call that pink - more of a salmon color (compared to the rose in the same pict). To answer your question however pink is difficult to produce. Pink = Red + White. and when it comes to dyes there is no white component since all dyes have black as a base. The evil empire (tandy) does have a Fuchsia stain which is in the ballpark and can be lightened with water. Since what you're using is VegTanned, it should take quite well. The alternative is pink acrylic which is not really a good way to go.. A chrome-tanned leather is easy to find in all flavors of pink. They are usually in the 3 oz range and would still work for a wallet interior. cheers!
  4. Definition of a full time artist: "someone who's spouse works" Never forgot that line.
  5. check the marketplace section here. I have some for sale as well as others.
  6. bump before it goes on eBay. thanks.
  7. MIWL is readily available on eBay. A quick search came up with these: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=&LH_SpecificSeller=2..breckenridgebabe%2C+stecksstore%2C+hawkes-leather&_sc=1&_sop=10&_fln=1&_npmv=3&_sticky=1&_ssov=1&_osacat=28131&_sop1=10&_ipg=200&_sop2=10&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X%22make+it+with+leather%22.TRS0&_nkw=%22make+it+with+leather%22&_sacat=28131
  8. hello. When I need a close up I usually use my Optivisor with a 3.5x lens like in the picture. The problem for me was needing to use these AND ware a face shield when grinding down the bevels on my stamps. I was very uncomfortable trying to use both. Then it occurred to me that face shields are made to accommodate people who wear glasses. So I cut out a something that would wear like glasses and use the lens from the optivisor. It is also shown here. It may not be pretty but it works well with the face shield. Cheers!

  10. sorry, no I don't engrave the leather. I have been known to make a stamp or two.
  11. I know the maker of these, and there is a grain side on both top and bottom so it is two thin pieces glued together.
  12. Very nice. GL is one of my favorite characters.
  13. it's not for sale. this is one of my just for fun projects while I improve my modeling skills. The painted hulk is on 8 oz leather. The undyed is on 2 oz leather. So it's got a pretty good range. I use a piece of rubber behind the leather piece which helps push it up into the leather.
  14. This is my latest 3d model of a HULK. This was a 3" woodworking model I made with a thickness of about 1/2" and is the 1st picture. I have to reduce this to at least 0.12 inches to work on leather. Picture #2 is the resulting impression on leather. You can still make out the muscles but it is not as imposing as the original. After it's painted its still pretty recognizable though. Cheers!
  15. Just fooling around trying to work on my modeling skills. The actual model is awesome. Unfortunately, it loses a lot flattening it for use on leather. Still, it was fun. 3" embossing plate cut into delrin. Cheers! (Oh, and I know the eyes are off. I did that with a modeling spoon - and of course my hand slipped).
  16. thank you King. email sent to OP.
  17. The evil empire is what I call the current Tandy Leather Factory incarnation.
  18. There are two versions of these stamps. The original greek letters from Tandy Leather company. These will come up from time to time on ebay. The evil empire redid the stamps a couple of years ago as a catalog item with the same stock # and it lasted 1-2 years before they discontinued it. that doesn't mean it's not still available. Just like the Runic letter set, one of the large stores occasionally has a batch made just for them and so there may be 20 or so sets available in the system but not at every store. Call any of the evil empire stores and have them look to see if any of the stores currently has one on hand.
  19. hello. these will be harder to find online. The big sellers like eBay, amazon, etsy have unilaterally removed or are removing any and all rebel flag merchandise. eBay and etsy have removed my wallets, stamps and lighters with the flag. Anyway, PM sent.
  20. Ivan makes a very large majority of the tools and hardware for the evil empire.
