  1. the smaller the small pulley and the bigger the large pulley the more reduction you have. You can run your servo at higher speed and you have more torque and lower sewing speed. 37mm -160 is about 1:3 reduction and 37mm to 160mm is about 1:4 reduction
  2. never liked theses colibri patchers very much but when I look at your restored ones - they really look awesome. I never had one of these in from of me - maybe one day... Thanks for the manual!!!
  3. I wish I had one of these when I rode a chopper a couple of years ago. Great idea! Do you have a website?
  4. Holy Cow - that sounds interesting - can you post some pictures please?
  5. The machine is 90Km away from me. I´d pay 50€ or so for it. Sometimes you have luck with these machines (remember my "Pink Wonder" 30-1). But most likely this one is a boat anchor. You are right with the Adler parts the prices are crazy. Need some "cheap" 30-1 parts? Check this out: http://www.wdn.de/artsearchresult.php?STICHWORT=&KATEGORIE=6140&HERSTELLER=&ARTIKELZAHL=50&LAGERWARE=0&ANSICHT=LISTE&SORTORDER=BENENNUNG&sortaufab=desc Totally crazy!!!! So when you need parts for restoring a 30-1 patcher you are seriously screwed! I was always hunting for a short arm Adler 30-15 but never found one so I bought the 29K71. Later on I restored the pink 30-1 and I honestly think that the the Adler Class 30 is not better than the later the Singer 29K models. Technically I think the later models of the 29K (71, 73, 73 and some in the 60´s subclass) are even better than any 30-1. I personally think ADLER is a bit of a myth because of "Made in Germany" "German engineering" bla blah and so forth... They are for sure nice machines but since I have worked with both I cannot say that the Adler's are really better. They are for sure better that the old 29K1, 29K4 and so forth but not better that the later 29K models. And when it comes to the availability of parts - guess whos ahead? Just my opinion!
  6. You have these people all over the world - just found this one on Ebay Germany: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Schuster-Nahmaschine-/141561557542?pt=Alte_Berufe&hash=item20f5b9f226 Full of bird shit and wrong treadle and overall in a very poor condition and so forth. He removed the Buy It Now which was over 500€ (or even 600€ or so) - unbelievable!!!
  7. It depends - I`m buying on ebay from this seller: http://stores.ebay.de/ATG-Gommern/_i.html?_nkw=keilriemen&_dmd=1&_sop=2&rt=nc They sell STRONGBELT brand and I never ahd issues. I think the prices are good.
  8. sounds like a very worn hook or bobbin case. There is no screw for tightening. You either have to replace the bobbin basket or the entire hook. But first I´d check if the timing and the needle position is correct. If the 153 manual is not helping then the Consew 227 manual (download link) is worth to check.
  9. I think 40mm is pretty much the limit since you also need a shaft the pulley goes on with a diameter of lets say 15mm. I use 8mm belts on my 111G156 since they are a bit more flexible than the 10mm ones as it seems. So they go around the smaller pulely a bit smoother. Search for Speed Reducer in the forum and you will find a lot of posts with different mountings. There are some really nice ideas. How is the Duerkopp working?
  10. sure, if you can find a bigger one for your machine. Advantage of a speed reducer it that you can always keep it when you buy a new or different machine. The shaft diameter of the machine may vary so the larger pulley may or may not fit for different machines. The speed reducer works for all machines.
  11. Just to be sure - all 216x1 needles sizes have the same shaft diameter? I ask because the diameter of the 214x1 varies as you surely know.
  12. Too bad - only the METWAR 200 is not rubbing must be a few mµ that the scarf is deeper. Bob - can you tell me if the 216x1 all have the same shaft diameter or is it the same as with the 214x1 (328)?
  13. I just notice the longer screws.... not sure if Abbey has what you need - sorry. But at least they have different size studs.
  14. Really? I just thought its the other way around. I was hoping the 216x1 has a longer or deeper scarf because of the wider tip of the 133K hook. Hmmmmm... I once setup my 133K with the Metwar 200 needle as I needed it for heavier thread / thicker material but I think I´ll try some other needle sizes and brands that I have floating around here. Needle testing day today....
  15. Abbey England has some but I don´t know the diameter: http://www.abbeyengland.com/Store/tabid/77/CategoryID/31/Category2ID/155/List/1/catpageindex/2/Level/2/ProductID/68541/language/en-GB/Default.aspx
  16. I know the 214x1 (Sys 328) have different shaft sizes / diameters and I know they are for the Singer 45K Adler 4, 5, 104,104 and so forth. I also use them in My 133K3 (no problems in general) but the original needle for the 133K3 is the 216x1 regarding the Singer manual. I just noticed that the 214x1 (328) size 200 METWAR needles (Metwar is now Groz Beckert) do NOT touch the hook whereas the thinner SCHMETZ 180 + 160 DO slightly touch the hook. it´s probably because the needle is thinner and the scarf is closer to the hook therefore. It really is a tiny tiny bit but it is barely touching no matter what angle the needle has. Sound stupid but thats what going on! The hook of the 133K is of course a bit special as it is a rotating hook and not a oscillating hook and the tip is not as sharp as at the 45K type hooks f.i. and the 133K hook tip is much wider and has a flattened side facing towards the needle so the tip may need a bit more space. So I wonder if the 216x1 has a constant shaft size and therefore a deeper scarf. I never have owned / seen 216x1 needles so I honestly don´t know the difference between the two. I hope someone know more....
  17. this could be useful too BTW - check where Adler has manufactured their Class 69 - it´s mentioned in the manual (2008 copy) Adler 69 Service Manual.pdf
  18. Got it wrong - it is the Adler 69 not the 169. The 169 is like the 227 type. Hope this helps: Adler 69 Manual.pdf
  19. same as the Adler 169 - as far as I know these were even built by Adler.
  20. Durkopp thread stand is sold - Thanks a lot! Still having the 2 Pfaff stands!
  21. Off topic but thats one reason why I like my old Singer 111 so much - all parts (and feet) are available w/o problem at very reasonable prices! And that approx. 60 years old clunker runs and runs and runs... Thats what one should keep mind when buying a machine - how is the spare parts situation and how much do these parts cost!!!! I have tried 2 or 3 Adler (67 and 167) after I bought my 111 but I alway decided to keep the Singer! The Adlers might be a bit technically advance (are they ???) but non of them was able change my mind!!! And the Singer 111´s are much easier to repair (f.i. replacing timing belts).
  22. Sorry I can´t help I don`t have this one.
  23. can you post a picture - not sure how it looks
  24. Is this what you need? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Singer-107W-143W-112W-Table-Hinge-Hook-210844-202259-/280419094123?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item414a47ce6b http://www.ebay.com/itm/Singer-145W-300W-Machine-Table-Hinge-Plate-2pcs-/271285513569?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f29e06d61
