Have An Artisan Flat Bed But Want A Cylinder Machine
Itch replied to Sharon Mallory's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I would look for another dealer.. -
I do not think that you will be able to find a machine that does it all in one step. You will need a die to cut the leather to shape, and then you will need to have a embossing plate made for your design.. for dies we use http://www.kaspardieandtool.com/index.asp and for a embossing plate try https://www.owosso.com/

Welcome.. Your work is very nice..

Problem With Stitches On My Cylinder Arm Machine..
Itch replied to CustomDoug's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
As mentioned above.. It took me awhile to keep the work flat on our 441 machines..It will fool you. -
We heat with a wood stove here out in the sticks and works very well.. Maybe you need a box, light, and a fan ?
-
Thank you so much for the info..
-
Exactly.. Did you use cartridge heaters like this ? And it looks like the embossing plate may be brass ? Thank you so much for the info .. http://www.gordosales.com/store/pc/HDC00059-p6241.htm?gclid=CjwKEAjwkMWgBRCJ1L_wypbX0wkSJAC3Xio2OeuF76jIl_7uBYffOdLOhaHKnu4qE-66qUqbRLFuvBoCcgjw_wcB

I have been thinking of doing this as well. For the heater how many Watts are you running? Are you just doing embossing and no foil ?

We have a 5" springfield 1911 Ring,s blue gun with a mark at 3" and 4" and also have the Sig with rails.. I have never had any complaint,s of a holster fitment .. I am a bit of a 1911 addict and will test a lot of our 1911 holsters.. The Springfield blue gun mold runs just a little smaller than the actual weapon..

You must still be single ... Since I got married I can't keep my bikes in the house any more.. Nice Work..

If you never take that step you will remain in the same old place..
-
Where are you located as that may help a bit. The last pic is a strap cutter.

Mold will usually grow on leather if it is damp, dark, and no air movement. Here is a good read http://www.leathertherapy.com/pages/Inhibiting-Mold-and-Mildew.html

What type of band knife splitter did you get ? We use an Old Fortuna 1952 vintage hard to find something built like this tank..

We have had one of these machines for years and it has worked very well for us sewing garment and upholstery leather.. any questions just let us know..
