  2. Sent you out 2 PDFs Hope this will help you.
  3. It sure looks to me that you do not have enough tension on the thread.I would start from the beginning and make sure that the thread is threaded through the machine properly. If you continue to have trouble I would try and find someone local to help you or to look at the machine..It is a little difficult to explain things over the internet some times..
  4. Tor I think that this machine weighs in at about 400 Kilos..If you send me an email to Larryxd@gmail.com I will attempt to send you a manual and parts list in a PDF. format..
  5. A little update as I have the machine running pretty good..Well at the moment as I do not want to jinx myself.. I have learned a lot about what makes this Old Girl Tick..I believe it to be a 1952 model.. If you click on the picture it should open the video of the machine in use..
  6. Aluminum oxide powder sprinkled on the backside of a piece of leather with a little bees wax on the leather first to hold the powder..Follow it up with some jewelers rouge on another spot of leather..
  7. I do think if memory serves me that yes the block is needed or the weapon will twist or not fit the holster correctly..
  8. I see that stuff come up on Ebay all the time..

  12. Tor Thank you for your offer and will keep it all in mind...Andrew I have only messed with this machine about an hour or so..I did get it working pretty well ,but feel I just need to fine tune it when I get a little more time.Yes it only has a bottom roller but it will eat anything that you feed it when it is set up properly. My buddy runs 12oz bridle and harness that is sometimes very dry..We primarily work with 12 oz latigo and thinner...
  13. My buddy,s are pretty knowledgeable about these machines.I spent the better part of the day cleaning and checking this thing out.I need a few screws that are metric some new sharpening stones.Did get it running and cutting..My wife is German and that is where the machine was made so I am going to have her contact Fortuna to see if we can get a SERVICE MANUAL FOR THE MACHINE OR ANY INFO..I have heard that Weaver leather in Ohio still use these machines so they should have more info on them..Where are you located ?
  14. A couple of guy,s that I know have used these machines for years with good luck so I have been keeping an eye out hunting one for myself..Found it finally at an auction in Chattanooga over the weekend..Makes my life much easier..
  15. We have been working with these folks for years ..http://www.owossographic.com/
  16. For me it would be my Weaver punches..Hole punches,English point,Etc... Quality tools make all of the difference if you take care of them.
  17. We have been using this machine for about 3 or 4 years and it sews like a dream..I would recommend this..
  18. Here is the fellas address he builds machines to last a lifetime..The press with shipping from New York to Tennessee was $498.00 Dan D Byler 7503 Burdick Rd. Dewittville,NY 14728
  19. Here is a video that we made in our shop..My Amish friend makes this machine..
  20. We have one of those machines and I don't want to jinx myself but it has been a good machine the 4 years that we have had it..We use it for sewing softer leather with. Is this your first machine ? You can read the manual or look all over the internet about it I am sure but if you are new to machines maybe it is best for someone to show you the basics to get started..
  21. We use heavy card stock to develop a pattern. After we make a prototype and it is tweaked I will use ABS plastic. We purchase 4x8 sheets of this material and it works very well.If the pattern is something that we will mass produce we will have a clicker die made so that we do not have to cut the item by hand..
  22. I would second that..They do a great job..
  23. We have wheels on or I should say under our sewing machines..We also have three 4x 8 foot tables to work on that have heavy duty caster wheels under them..
