New Options for cutting and folding leather straps
jimi replied to RockyAussie's topic in How Do I Do That?
Yes the feed in seems like no problem, it gets a bottle neck with the final hole being smaller. I have done 3 at the moment. The first one slipped so i had to print a larger wheel, also the original wheel marked the leather a lot the later less. I used flexi filament to make the wheel and worked until i got in tighter with a larger wheel then the grub screw holding it on ends up in the rubber and strips the hole sideways so a PETG is on now and seems to be doing ok. The one i have for the strap is the same apart from two inner ramps, one each side until the final end slit. I am not so good with Autocad so that is why the ones i have done are not tapered like the ones you have done. The ideal one i was thinking of trying would be adjustable, one each side and able to slide in and out to accommodate the width of strap, that could possibly work with the piping also, but not sure. I will try and get one together, that way hopefully there is no need to print one for each size. -
That sounds about right, 3/16 - 2/8ths - 6mm. When the feed dog wears the stitch normally gets shorter as it does not pull the same. I think the flatbeds have a longer stitch?

Oohps...I would have recommended you Folker but i did not see any on your Ebay listings.

You could try this guy, he had a few parts not that long ago for the 45k but cannot remember if he had the ring...he did have a whole race and a few other parts. https://www.leboncoin.fr/autres/1934747512.htm

Yeah, might give that one a go Rahere?? -
That is also a big toe on your foot? I would get a cheap one the same and grind it down. This is ideally what you are looking to achieve...This is a Pfaff 335.

Any pull down guide to fit these threaded holes
jimi replied to chrisash's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
This was the adapter that came with this swing down guide i have on my old 335, i was thinking something along these lines but with the holes adapted to your setup? then you can hold the guide to the adapter??Mmmmm...no holes at the back?? -

Why not print a adapter?? -
Very nice splitter, no idea what make it is but great job on the restoration.

Looking good! I would think welding a new on on could be tricky?? the newer types have a eccentric screw to adjust them, just a idea... if it could be fixed with a screw after cutting off the old worn one then drilled and pinned after adjusted??
-
i definitely need more practice with this one!!
-
Sorry i dont have any screw gauge for measuring, and yes the plate for the 45k and the 132k are the same and use the 793d screw to fix the guides on. The 45k had its binder but is pretty tricky to use, unlike the new type binders this one needs a bit more practice, on my side, as it likes to wander off to the side as there is nothing underneath to guide it. The foot for this has a step and you also have the small spring metal guide to adjust the width and guide it , maybe the needle plate 85529 with the step further over could work??

Best Skiving Machine For Soft Temper Leathers (And Firm Too)

I would say get a good second hand Fortuna with a clutch and if you have a large workshop then one with a vacuum incorporated. -
Mmm... the 4th picture is of the 29ks that had the detachable gearbox?? If you have a K15 you will have 3 pinions??
