Seems like this was at one point a fairly popular holster. I found the Don Hume H702 listed on ebay. They made it for revolvers with 2" and 4" barrels for the J, K, L, and N frame revolvers. Most had a retention strap attached with snaps on both ends making it removable. Being a revolver fan I think I will attempt making on for my .357. Nice looking rig. You will have people bugging you to make them something when they see it. I made the mistake of showing one of my holsters to some colleagues at work-now they are waiting for me to agree to make holsters for them.

I have seen similar shoulder holsters in the movies. Steve McQueen in Bullitt wore one. He carried what appeared to be a 2" J frame revolver in it. The weapon was held in by what looks like a neoprene or some other kind of elastic fabric.

The video is well done. As to making holsters, well I started leather working because I thought I could make my own holster for what I was going to pay for one. I was right. I have made around 10 holsters so far. I am only in it for the hobby. It is addicting though. Oh, and once people know you can make holsters they will not leave you alone. Even holsters you consider ugly are looked at with awe. After you cut the leather the first time to make a holster it really gets easier. That first time caused quite a bit of nervous thoughts about wasting leather. Now I look at it as a learning experience. The best advice I got was to get the book "How to Make Holsters" by Al Stohlman. I have also used Jim Simmons' Cowboy Holster Tutorial. Both are great references.

This website was the most help to me when I first started. In a close second were the books by Al Stohlman.
