  1. Nice looking rig. You will have people bugging you to make them something when they see it. I made the mistake of showing one of my holsters to some colleagues at work-now they are waiting for me to agree to make holsters for them.
  2. Nicely executed-the tooling is beautiful. Kudos on the creative way you solved the pattern making process by having the customer make a tracing of the revolver Stohlman style.
  3. Nicely executed. I like the way you worked your maker's mark into the design of your tooling.
  4. I have seen similar shoulder holsters in the movies. Steve McQueen in Bullitt wore one. He carried what appeared to be a 2" J frame revolver in it. The weapon was held in by what looks like a neoprene or some other kind of elastic fabric.
  5. Thanks for sharing that video. Learning techniques like this one allows us to have the money available to buy more leather.
  6. The video is well done. As to making holsters, well I started leather working because I thought I could make my own holster for what I was going to pay for one. I was right. I have made around 10 holsters so far. I am only in it for the hobby. It is addicting though. Oh, and once people know you can make holsters they will not leave you alone. Even holsters you consider ugly are looked at with awe. After you cut the leather the first time to make a holster it really gets easier. That first time caused quite a bit of nervous thoughts about wasting leather. Now I look at it as a learning experience. The best advice I got was to get the book "How to Make Holsters" by Al Stohlman. I have also used Jim Simmons' Cowboy Holster Tutorial. Both are great references.
  7. This website was the most help to me when I first started. In a close second were the books by Al Stohlman.
  8. All I can say is that I have been lucky thus far as I have not spilled any dyes, yet. Thanks for sharing your inovative methods for preventing spills.
  9. Nice work. The molding really stands out as does the use of white thread on a black holster. However, I think you put a little to much detail in your molding or fitting the holster to the gun. Most of the holsters of that style that I have seen have little to no molding work done on them. Retention on these holster comes from a hammer thong.
  10. Excellent as always. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us.
  11. Looks good. Did you hand stitch it, and if so what was it like to work with?
