  1. Nice. Both these and the ipad case you made in the other thread. Very clean, very nice. You'd take it up yet another notch if you finished your edges with gum trag or saddle soap.
  2. You did a great job on the purse! I also really like the dog collar. The suede interior is very classy. I wonder if it would be advisable to sew the flap all the way around to make sure the suede doesn't separate. However, I'm no glue expert. How does the handle attach to the purse? Cool, on the sand cast copper hardware.
  3. Neillo, I love that one. Really nice work.
  4. That's a gorgeous book.
  5. Oh no, it's no more than $20.00. It's cheaper to pay shipping from Abbey England than to buy from any place I've seen here. It costs $32.00 for 500 meters from Abbey England. It's more than $10.00 for only 50 yards from any etsy store I've looked at. You'll pay less than half the price if you buy from England, even with shipping. And don't be put off by their approval process. You have to be approved before you can have an account. I don't know what it means, but it can take a day or two to get an account, or no time at all.
  6. Welcome to the forum! I love the book with the gold "C". Really very nice.
  7. Really cool boots! I want to go learn shoe-making from you.
  8. @Waylon, the snaps are a good alternative. Great idea, and nice looking bag. Yin, you really went all out on the stitching. And the stitching looks really very nice. I think ultimately, you'd need to stitch all the way around the pigskin lining, but I'm not sure what people do in those cases. I'd assume so for myself. Interesting design, too. I'll be interested to hear if you like it a lot or start to see problems with it as you use it.
  9. Very nice work! I have no experience with sheridan, so I can't offer an opinion, but I love the saddle.
  10. Nice job, James! I think you were right to stick to just the crosses on the end. It looks cool and classy, and the crosses make it even better. That's a really cool project.
  11. Ha, I'm not serious, just back-handedly expressing how impressed I am with your work.
  12. YT, I think you should be officially barred from participating. You're making us look bad. Interested to see how you're going to apply those handles.
  13. Thank you, Kymberly! I'm all self-taught (you can certainly see that when you see my earlier stuff), but slowly getting there, I hope. I wish you lived in Georgia! I sent your pictures to my little sister in Texas - she keeps trying to get me to learn how to watercolor. And I'd absolutely love to, but I like leatherworking too much to take off time to try to learn watercolor. Now, I'm pretty sure I would make time if it were a matter of watercoloring leatherworking designs. That's like the best of both worlds. If only you lived close enough, you could laugh at my feeble drawing skills and give me tips.
  14. Really nice, Kymberly. I think it came together well!
  15. I like your bags a lot. Very nice work.
  16. Fun idea with all the figure painting and carving. Looks like a solid case, too.
  17. LOL, Tom, that's hilarious. I live in Atlanta (or right outside of it) and I haven't even seen the show. Terrible.
  18. Ha, Tom strikes again!
  19. Um... yeah... ditto Matt. If that's your first project, I am so embarrassed for my first one. Beautiful job. Your thread and spi look good to me. You might find almost any other thread more pleasant to use. When I used the Tandy thread, it was so heavily waxed I ended up with wax buildup all over the bag. Ritza tiger thread is lovely to use, and I also like the Royalwood thread I recently bought, but it's still not as smooth as the tiger thread. Tiger thread, by the way, isn't much more expensive than Tandy's thread, even shipped from Abbey England in the UK. It's $35.00 from Tandy, and $32 (+shipping) from Abbey England.
  20. I love that you watercolor your designs. So cool.
  21. Tinkerton, that is not terrible at all. The sheep is interesting stuff, and the lacing actually seems to have given it a bit of rigidity. I actually put on the closure pieces afterwards, which was a royal pain, but the only way I could figure out to get it to line up properly.
