Vergez Blanchard Pricking Iron No. 7 - 8 Teeth
Faridz Muhammad replied to Faridz Muhammad's topic in Old/Sold
Hello, sorry for my mistakes, actually what i'm trying to say is that i polish it once every 2 month, i'm not that good at english, so sorry for the mistake. thank you. Its been maintained by an expert tool maker here in my country, which only get polished (removing rust) and polished it with a wet stone on the front and back, no sandpaper or any grinding, since any of those would damage the dimension and thickness of the iron itself, the teeth were not touched since i wish to make it as original as possible, I've had it for 6 month now, and been maintained for 3 times, And PRICE UPDATED TO $120 Including shipping, If you have anything to ask feel free to send me message or reply here. Thanks guys!- 3 replies

Sorry guys for the late response! Been out of town lately, Hey! It once mines too! Unless you know the trick and it becomes one of the fun part of the project. wait. did i said fun? Thanks a lot man! Keep practicing and it will looks great! Hey Stu! Yes that bursnishing things is not the most fun part of edge finishings, thats maybe why there's lots of jigs around to do that, you might wanted to try to add paint on the last with 2/3 layers, with sanding on a 320grit sandpaper and hopefully it will looks great! Thanks mate! Thats one of a nice edge friend! Looks really solid and sturdy on that! And for your question, i didnt use any top coat for that, but i sometimes use clear coat for protection and sand it again, because i prefer a little matte finish that makes it looks more elegant! Cheers!

Hello guys! In this post i'd like to show you my attempt on edge finishing, using a local edge paint for this and quite love the result, It comes quite thick from the bottle so i added water to it since its water based, to thin the paint, i prefer thin so its easier for me to apply to the edges. Did quite some layering and sanding on this, and finished by polishing a cloth to the edges. Hope you guys like it. Thanks a lot for viewing! Faridz.

Thats nice! I've been wanted to put a little pillowing on the lower feet where they meet the tight, makes stitching more comfortable in my opinion.

Here shows a bifold wallet with fully lined calfskin, Been thinking to tightened up the stitch to 9 Spi... i currently only have a No. 7 Stitching iron... And i think that is a little for me to share, still shaping my edging skills and stitchings, what i learnt is that stitching is not about doing it by hand, but interpreting the rule of thumb between stitch per inch, thread thickness, and distance between the edge, and of course the thickness of the leather, i learnt that those condition needs to be well balanced to get a consistence stitching.... Well, i've talked to much, Hopefully you guys enjoys my works! Thanks!!!!!
