Are these fine leathers you use available at a leather store there or do you order direct from the tannery?

Thanks for all the photos Huns. Awesome work.
  3. You're right. Rocky Mountain Leather Supply also sells it. http://www.rmleathersupply.com/collections/all I've bought from both. But FLW has an awesome blog. Let's keep'em both around. Competition is good for us.
  4. Try the Irish linen thread at Royalwood. http://www.royalwoodltd.com/cat14-17ar.htm Later try the French linen thread Fil au Chinois at Fine Leather Working. They also have John James needles and Blanchard tools.
  5. Stuff looks great over there at FLW. I'd just ask him.
  6. You might try a folded edge for deer and elk hide.
  7. He glues a strip on the inside, stitches it and then re trims to make a perfect straight edge then paints, sands and polishes.
  8. I haven't stitched a 7 spi with 632 yet here is 7 with 432 and 9 with 432 and 632. The black card wallet is 7 spi w/432. The 2nd pic is 432/9spi on left and 632/9spi on right.
  9. Great piece. Keep it coming. What is the Sully called on their website? I don't see it.
  10. I've been using 432 on 9 SPI & 7 SPI and I really think it looks better on 7. It's starting to look too big for 9 now. I'll be buying some 632 soon to use on 9. May be a week or two but I'll post some photos. I think you get a better slant with a smaller thread to SPI ratio. I think a 632 on a 9 SPI will have a nicer slant than 432 on 9.
  11. I'm not familiar with him or his tools. I'll take a look if you have a picture but I'll probably hold out for the $ or a Barry King.
  12. Just over 5/16" square.... or 9 mm square.
  13. Nice work. What's your SPI? Looks like about 6. I'd bump it up a little, 8 or 9.
  14. Used $45 includes shipping to US. Will trade for a Barry King rope or braid medium/large basket weave.
  15. Oi! Bem vindos. Tudo bem? Minha esposa é do Brasil.
  16. Nice job tooling, finishing and inlay. Edges could be cleaned up some. Try hidepounder's tutorial if you haven't already. Not sure what you used but I prefer a smaller thread with higher stitch count.
  17. No you didn't miss the June post. There isn't one. I've been busy with a new baby and a new house. I haven't had time to pick out a new pattern. If anyone has a suggestion please post one.
  18. Anyone else finish the sunglasses case? Anyone have suggestions for June?
