Yep, that's correct. -
Fenice Edge Paint

Monica, so far it's great. Seems to help a lot with the seam line between two pieces of leather. If this didn't work I was about to try some Giardini. -
Edge Finishing - A Contradiction By Fiebings?
thefanninator replied to tinkerslane's topic in How Do I Do That?
Throw the edge kote out. Go with Bob's method on thicker veg tanned stuff. If you're using thinner veg tanned or chrome tanned - try edge paint. For the record I did throw mine out a couple years ago, maybe someone who's an Edge Kote expert will chime in. Good luck. -
Folio/case/notebook With Wrap Around Zip
thefanninator replied to Madebynick's topic in How Do I Do That?
Nice work. I've used a few zippers but not quite like this. Can you try a smaller zipper? I can't tell what size this is, maybe a 6...if so, try a 4. Is it too long? Did you take the zipper apart when you put it together? If I were making this I'd glue all the pieces together then mark the stitches from the red side. Except for the interior pockets. Great website by the way...cool stuff. -
Fenice Edge Paint

Thanks for this post Ferg. I've been using Fenice for over a year now and have some pretty nice edges. They took way too long. I stumbled across this thread the other night and today I bought some Gloss Edge Agent at Tandy and after one short test I have the best edge ever and in fewer coats. A little light sanding with 400 & 800 between coats. I also bought the edge paddle, it works great. I was using a scratch awl. -
Renia Aquilim 315 is a water-based contact cement. It's from Germany. http://www.renia.com

Did you try gluing in the lining before molding the tray? As far as the loose threads on the edges go, trim them and an edge paint should be able to cover them up.

What Kind Of Cord Should I Fill My Bag Handles With?
thefanninator replied to Blucher's topic in How Do I Do That?
I've used the 6mm leather cord from http://www.leathercordusa.com It was great but if you want to go bigger this place has 8mm but it's in Germany: http://www.endlessleather.com/leather-cords -
Read the book Deerskins to Buckskins - you can brain tan your own leather. But you'll have to harvest a deer or get the hide from a hunter.

Fileteuse Manuelle (Heated Edge Creaser) On The Cheap
thefanninator replied to BigMatt's topic in Leather Tools
I have the Regad unit that Mando, FLW and RMLS sell. I found that alligator needs only the lowest setting or it will burn. Maybe my piece of alligator is just cheap and a nicer tanned piece will need more heat. Other leathers need a higher setting. Looks like you got a good crease. -
Fountain Pen Case

Very nice. U-shaped gusset box stitch? How was it stitching that? -
I've been recycling things since I'm about out of materials. The black is Horween Essex. Remember the dopp kits we make a few months back? I scrapped mine and made a clutch with U-shaped gussets... I took that apart and made the envelope clutch....it's Spanish Calfskin from Hardtke, the Terracotta (orange) is Sokoto goatskin from Siegel. 9 SPI and I finally ordered some orange Lin Cable 632 to match and a brass magnetic clasp from Bucklebuy.

Don't forget Rudy's. Maybe we should have a meet up for BBQ and leather talk.
