I am interested in the Cyclone Sewing Machine and wanted to know if there are any other members with one if you have one can you please post a picture of it a video would be a dream but it is probably to much to ask for. What do you guys think the value of this machine is, also how much would Campbell Randall charge to have one rebuilt, I am posting this topic because it has not been talked about since 2009 for all the sewing machine experts give us your opinion on this machine. Thank you Ralph

You will not find a cylinder arm for that price the cheapest I have seen the Adler 105-64 is $ 2500 plus shipping or you can get a new Cobra for $ 2695

This Is To My Fellow Cobra 4 Owners
RoyalLeatherDesigns replied to Slow Learner's topic in Sewing Leather
You are right that does not look good at all I know this would of not happened on a needle and awl machine you get a beautiful tight stich on these machines from what I have seen that is why I purchased one as well. The Cobra Class 4 can produce a good looking stitch as well I don't know what is going on with your Cobra. Before you think of even giving up contact Steve he will do whatever it takes to make it right it might just be user error or something so simpe like changing the presser feet or plate. The point of life is to move forward and not to go back. Ralph -

I look at sewing machines then post them here to see if you have one or know about them before I buy them. I buy them to use them in my future leather shop. Let me know what you think about this one I can get this one for 1250 I figure the motor is worth about 800. Also will I be able to sew leather holsters on this machine. Here are some pics

Hey PapaLeather, Welcome to the forum I myself have been on it for a short while but love it, you will find great friends here I know I have if you have any questions on sewing machines Trox and I Wizz are the men to talk to. Both gentlemen have helped me with questions I have had. One piece of advise is use the search tool it is very helpful or just post and a member will be more than happy to help you I am sure of that. If I can help you I will but my knowledge is very limited but I am getting there. Well enjoy yourself I know I have. Ralph

How Does Your Shop Look Like?
RoyalLeatherDesigns replied to RoyalLeatherDesigns's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Thanks LNLeather I did do that but nothing was coming up I had to change the search settings in an iPad things tend to hide sometimes but last night I finally found it, I know it had to be in here somewhere. I spent hours looking at everyone's shop some members even included pictures of their man caves and it motivated me to clean my garage out, that is what I am doing this morning. One member had a vintage Coke Machine Couch conversion it was really cool. So my neighbor has this completely smashed 1964 Ford Mustang thant he's giving away and I am thinking of asking him to cut the trunk are out since he's got all the tools and owes me a favor. I thought about making a couch out of that. I remember in a vocational class we did this with an instructor but the trunk are was out of an old Chevy. The Mustang has a nice charcoal grey paint job on it. It is just completely wrecked in the front area only I would just have to make some simple mods to sheet metal and mock up something out of plywood and upholster what I came up with. I think it's kind of cool ill definitely post pics if my neighbor comes through. Firs things first I need to get this garage clean that project might be a long shot but worth the try I think. Well thanks LN and Jason! Ralph -

Adler 220-50-73 if I am not mistaken. I seen this machine on Craigslist last night I myself think its a bargain at 900obo I have not seen these machines going anything less than 3500 and up to 5000 and that's with a clutch motor this one has a servo motor it might be an Efka or quick rotan motor. It is too far from where I live that is why I am not buying it. Here's the link. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/art/4059549112.html

Handstitched Small Dog Harness
RoyalLeatherDesigns replied to Mijo's topic in Collars, Cuffs, Leashes and Leads
Looks great and just like everybody else said the eyelets make it unique, you don't see everybody doing it that way I myself would not have thought of it myself. I know I am going to write that down in my notes. Great job and keep up the good work. The only think I would do better is the edges they still look a little rough, I know it has been addressed just letting you know. Ralph -
I would use the Enduro Servo Motor google Keystone and they have great motors for these machines do not buy a clutch motor you will not have any speed control. At 100 dollars you are going to spend more on a motor than a machine. I have seen those machine go anywhere from 800 to 1200 so great buy. You should also think about buying a speed reducer pulley not necessary but beneficiary. Enjoy your new machine! Ralph

Need Help Finding The Right Machine.
RoyalLeatherDesigns replied to eri s's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I think I seen this machine on Craigslist myself matter of fact I did this machine has a clutch motor if I am not mistaken at for a beginner a clutch motor is very hard to learn in. This motor will take of on you and you will not have any control over your material. The other machine I told you about is a better deal for about 200 dollars more you get the speed reducer and a modified servo motor plus the extra suspending guide which is very practical for beginners even experienced leather workers when wanting to sew a straight stitch. Let me know what you think. -
Airbrush- What Kind Of Paint Do I Use?
RoyalLeatherDesigns replied to RoyalLeatherDesigns's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Thanks Cybertrasher! What kind of sealant would work after the paint has been applied. Wich one do you use? -
That looks great! What kind of dye and finish did you use? Ralph

I am interested in buying an airbrush kit, an Iwata to be exact but my question is- What kind of paint is suitable for leather? I believe I seen some on Springfield or Tandy's but not sure. Anyhow I know you can use you dyes and the most common stuff that we use on airbrush. A general rule if its equal or consistent to the thickness of milk you can airbrush with it. Like if I tooled some western floral designs and I wanted to accent with an airbrush what kind of paint would you use and where do I get it. Will it last a long time after wear? Or would you rather use different color dyes. I know I'm all over the place with this post but that's the best way I was able to put it in words.... Ralph GOD BLESS!

I think they are awesome I know I would buy me and my girl one. They look great but like another member said or at least I think he said, use a skiving machine because in some places the binding looks really thick. See I am no expert and I caught that so if I see that I am sue your buyers will. I hope this helps I only criticized your work because you asked so don't get mad at me..jk seriously they look great you have taken great pics. Best of luck...GOD BLESS! Ralph

Need Help Finding The Right Machine.

I would go with the Consew 206rb-5, it's the workhorse, hide pounders compare it with the Chevy of the trade. Parts and repair are easily available. You can sew leather with it as well from what I have seen on this website. I know there is a member selling his for 1150 but he's is got it all set up already with a gear reduction unit, and a really good servo motor. I think that is what you really need so you can sew at slow speeds and when you get the hang of it turn up the speed on the servo. I think is a win for the Consew. Best of luck with your sewing! -
It's been a while is is still available
