  1. Please send me yours, I'll send you mine Please send to: Rick Garcia PO Box 134 Samaria, MI. 48177 THANKS!!!!
  2. Bill, looks to me that the Weaver Power Edge Slicker users haven't weighed in yet....or....there ain't any amoung us....(?)
  3. I didn't know what rpms my "used to be a sewing machine" machine turned so I set out to find a motor that Ivan recommends....I told a knife buddy of mine what I was looking for and BINGO...."I think I may have something like that in the barn"...out he comes with a never used/ still in the box Dayton 1/2 hp, 1725 rpms he bought at a flea market years ago because "I didn't need it but I couldn't pass up the good deal" All he wants for it is a sheath for his new knife...but I'm making him a belt to match too. I'll be wiring it up this week-end....moral of the story....ASK AROUND!!!! I also found one on Craigs list for $25, but it had a 1" shaft......they're out there!
  4. My self, I can't always avoid it, but here's how I fix it.....I use a piece of fine snadpaper to take that glue off before I burnish, sand in one direction. You may have to re-dye the edge again before you burnish.
  5. Bree, better do that groove with the screw-driver shaft too, or else Ivan will make you stay after school. I sent him a picture of mine after setting it up and trying out like you did, and he noticed right away I was breaking the rules,,,,he let me know it.....so chop chop...
  6. I know it was somewhere on this forum that someone pointed out this guy selling these on ebay...I went, I saw, I bought....here tis.....I rigged it up to an old converted sewing maching that happens to have a 1/2" shaft running through it....don't know how fast it turns, but it seems to work just fine..... I just picked it up at the PO today, so hopefully by tonight I'll have a project far enough along to burnish... But just taking it through a trial run, I would say that burnishing will no longer be a PITA for me........more to follow.....
  7. The stamp goes to BRUCE!!! I'm with you on this one rdb....I just moved and still in the process of organizing my work space....yeah, right....I keep coming across things such as this stamp that I haven't used in years, and probably won't...besides, I have another one I will hold on to.... I would probably be a frequent flyer on a "SWAP" forum if one got started....or heck....just start up a thread like this one.....
  8. I never did get the proper press to get the best results from this stamp, but I sandwished the leather tween a piece of flat stock then put it in the vise....did the job. I haven't used it in years, so if you think you will.....first "I want it" gets it..... The image measures about 2" x 2"..... Wanna trade for a little leather thingy that you do?? If you send money, I'll only buy beer and blow the rest, so I'd rather trade.....more funner than $$$ sometimes....
  9. ...who wants em?? In very good shape.....I won't be using them anymore.... How bout a trade for some little tid bit of leather thingy that you do?? First "I'll take em " gets em.....
  10. I see you've been around at least since Feb.....so you've been pretty busy, your work is very good. I agree about the white lace and white thread on the cuffs...I think it would look better if they were black....just my 2 cents.
  11. Hidepounder, that's top notch stuff, for sure. Do you free-hand your lettering or do you have stencil-like thingys?? I like the simplisity and western look of the fonts you use.
  12. Musta not been no "spell check" back then.....
  13. The bullet pouch...I need to improve on the construction of this piece, and I will, but this one should hold up fine in the meantime....
  14. What MadMax said Fritzy....the style of mine is called the Cheyenne. In each pattern package there is a list of the guns that the patterns will fit, along with the various barrel lengths. I don't know how much of a difference there is tween the New and the regular, or Bisley, Vaquero, so there may be some adjusting to be made prior to stitching, but i doubt it will be much. Let me know if I can help in any way....I work 5 minutes away from a Tandy store...PM me if you need help getting a pattern...
  15. Great looking holster Jordan....I wish I could keep my work area that neat...so does my wife.
  16. Got the belt finished this morn......next item will be a pouch to carry ammo in...
  17. ABN...very nice work...you've helped make up my mind on a project I'm working on now...I call it my Plinking Rig...holster, belt, Knife sheath, and pouch like yours to carry .22 rounds in....That style wil be perfect for what I have in mind....thanks for the inspiration! Question...I will be using a block of wood to form the leather around it, how do you keep the side panels in place while you stitch??
  18. Mike, the bracelet is doing just fine....I get lot's of " hey, that's cool"...don't see much quality braiding round these parts. Keep up the great work.....
  19. WOW!!!! Ortega lives!!!!
  20. Dan, if I can lend a hand, just ask.....hand stitching is what takes the most practice.
  21. I can't take credit for making the knife, only the sheath..to be finished very soon.
