  9. I am thinking about getting a clicker and I like to research everything before I jump in!~ Used sounds great for several reasons, price being one. New seems like the easier due to warranty, shipping and so on. I am not sure what brand to look for and what size? 10 15 20 Ton? I would be cutting out harness part for the time being! 10-12 oz for the most part! Can anyone shed any light? Ive started to price some options out, but am in NH and would like to find something on the east coast if at all possible! Thanks -Andrew

    Adler 204-370

I have a adler 204-370 flat bed for sale, it has double harness toe pressor feet, as well as a left toe. It has the drop down material guide, as well as one that attaches to the bed. it has a speed reducer and a clutch motor. I barley use this machine, I am going to buy a new Campbell once I sell this machine. Stitch quality is amazing on this bad boy! Sews 3/4". Made in W. Germany. Perfect for sewing saddle pads or other flat work. $2,750 -Andrew www.awharness.com
  11. I got a call from a local tack shop that I do a lot of work for. THey have a brand new western saddle that has some mystierous stains on it. They are guessing that it may be blood, and its on the suede seat. THey tried to clean it out but had no luck. How should I handle this? Dye it? what will take the stain out? at a loss! But they have a 1200 saddle that they cant sell now, so I might as well try to fix it~! -Andrew

  14. padding the flap, not blocking them out like a dressage saddle... I saw that you had mentioned the dressage saddle... I was thinking about hacking up a saddle I have at home before I attempt it on the customers saddle -Andrew
  15. Thanks Kevin, Ive been going to call Windmill to see what they recomend or about the foam. but I do have felt in the shop. This girl is a "10" and I dont want to mess up her saddle! I need to score a date out of it! She doesnt want suede! So basically outline the knee roll, cut the flap and make a new section to sew on (like most stock) Or just cover the felt with the chap leather and sew it on top of the flap? Thanks -Andrew
  16. Hi I need to do a job for a friend, as a friend! I need to add knee rolls to an AP hunt saddle, what weight and type of leather works out well? Foam? How thick? And where's the beast place for the foam? -Andrew

I called, they couldnt find the order, I was on hold for 15-20 mins, they were thing going to call me back... Called a week later, same deal. the called me back about 3-four days later and have called again since about my order... I agree with the bitter taste in my mouth! I used to look forward to the friday emails!
  19. I am going to get one Bob! I am glad that you have the ULS up and running! I started on four quick hitch work harnesses last night I want to get them done by next week, and I will start a Campbell Randall fund! After buying a used ULS, I think when I get a new needle and Awl, it will be NEW NEW and all up and working! That adler runs great still, sewed some saddle pads on it the other day, but it doesnt get a 1/10th of the work the 441 clone does!- it does sew better
  20. The DVD sounds like Machine porn to me! When I got weavers promo leather machinery video I know I "had" to have aleast a couple things that they sell!
  21. Bob, that Union got the best of me! I hate to admit it, but it did! Ah we can only dream right? I'll get a Campbell one of these days... How goes things in Flint? I was going to email Campbell Randall to get a price on a new machine about an hour ago... TOO TEMPTING!
  22. I want a campbell in the worst way! If I was to go to Tx, I would go check the machines and options out first hand, and probably end up picking one up with the accessories, presser feet to sew Rounds and raised work and up the the buclkes!
  23. A client and friend of mine bought a high end show saddle and paid not one but two pretty pennies for it two years ago. The saddle was used very very lightly at probably 10 shows. He called me to let me know that the silver turned black, and it won't polish, its almost like the plating came off the saddle. I work pretty much in strap goods and harnesses and have no idea about silver. Is this normal? is this something that happens? are there differnt levels of plating? In your eyes should the maker stand behind this? The maker also made the silver Thanks again guys! -Andrew
