  1. Thank you Storm and Hilo! Yo guys are great! Now I get the whole picture - so to speak;-) This technique is impressive so I gotta start look around where to get it in Sweden. I know there's alot of interest in wood burning here so I can probably something that is just as functional if not the same types. Tom
  2. Hi Waddy! If you decide to go ahead with Grants Spanish double or triple loop I would love to see the result. Gonna try one of them but can't decide wich since the finished buckle looks the same in his drawings. I don't need to do it right away but just thought it looked like fun to try so don't rush anything on my behalf. Tom
  3. I remember seeing this one in the earlier post and thinking this will be a very nice notebook but man I did not picture the two tone lacing so it was just a very nice surprise effect to me when opening this thread. Very impressive, someone mentioned you have quite the control over your tool and I can just agree with that, very sharp tooling. The backgrounding looks really really smooth, I love that. Tom
  4. Very cool, nice and true to the original motif. Tom
  5. How come roughout design is not very common? It looks great and reminds me how stupid I am to carry around my camera equipment, couldn't fit my smallest lens in there , lol. Did you leave the roughout without any type of treatment? Gotta ask since I've never delt with it before. Great job and lovely tooling! Tom
  6. Wow Troy! Looks amazing, tooling is very nice and good in detail (yeah me too, the spokes)and the shine is just awesome on that seat so I gotta ask you what you used to finish it with? Happy sewing!! Tom
  7. Storm, could you post a link to the pyro equipment you use or perhaps a pic of your own. Somehow I keep thinking it'd be easier to understand how you do it if I'd see the stuff. Tom
  8. Wow Storm, your pyrocarving carvings is really coming out top notch with this. Great stuff Tom
  9. I love those bracers Anne made to and this one's fat and nice. Maybe I'll conduct one of my own aswell. Nice going Roo! Tom
  10. Grattis på födelsedagen LW!! (yup, that's Swedish version of happy b-day) Big thanks to the crew who keeps this place running, you have created something to be proud of Tom

    Maker stamp

I got my stamp from Indypbear at this forum. Made of the really hard plastic material Delrin and works really well. Tom
  12. Hello and welcome to LW! That is a beautiful book! Hope we get to see more! Tom
  13. That is so much nice work that my head spins and almost fall off, all those beautiful little details, sigh Tom
  14. Well, there you go! Have fun! Tom
  15. Hi and welcome Pitman! Fancy sheaths you got there! This place got some stuff on braiding:http://www.btinternet.com/~kingsmerecrafts/ If you can find a copy of Bruce Grants book Leather braiding (available through Tandys) you have some intense braiding ahead of you. Tom
  16. Welcome Hammerhead! Excellent stuff and I just love a lot of lacing! Your tooling is great but I just fell in love with the cigbag and lighter. It's a darn nice design. Your own? Tom
  17. Congrats David! The world just keep getting more potential quality leatherworkers. Tom
  18. There ya' go! Aint this something to be really jealous of! Great job, from what I can tell out of the pics you did good with the basket weaving. Tom
  19. Wow L-Cat Those are very nice! I'm gonna have a go with it as soon as I have the time for it. Keep it up and tell mom that Tom is sooo jealous of your roo lace. Tom
  20. Yes David, I sure gave you a thought when doing this and hoped you'd like it. Got meself new book now, Bruce Grants braiding. Sure got some nice stuff there to pickup. I just love those circular braidings you do so now I got stuff like it in print. I know you did a tut on that but was thinking it got lost in the Big crash. Thanks alot David! Tom
  21. Thank you all so much!! Anyone noticed the heart...man I'm going soft these days Tom
  22. Thanks Roo! The artwork on the back (cross and cornerstones shapes) was actually taken from some small childrens lego (Duplo, I think) and how they look. Tom
  23. The support one get's at this board is so great and really helps me pushing forward. Yes John, big stamp-big mallet and big strike. Thank you Craftsman and Storm! This purse goest to a girl named Laila at my job. She saw the first rodtube and was sold on a purse in the same colourscheme. The decorative braids forms a heart if put together, not a flirt from my side but rather a nice touch. Thank you Colman! I've been doing the black and red based stuff for a while now and really feel it's such a nice combination that really suits my persona well so it's gotta be sorta my insignia together with the compass star of my makers stamp wich in it's whole has the shape of a eye, so does the website layout do aswell but we'll see if I can keep it that way. New to webdesign so probably need to re-work that in future. Thanks you Adamant! This colouring will suit a cue case nicely. Have you seen the rod tube I made with this colour scheme? the tut is here: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?s...ic=2886&hl= It has one drawback, when putting on finisg/sealer you get a purple colour in the wet finish wich really shows upon the golden layouts so I have to deglaze golden parts after finishing and a little touch up with new gold dye paint and finally seal those parts again, otherwise the gold gets a purple not so good looking shine. I've come to call this colourscheme the old heritage. Tom- the longposter;-)
  24. Thanks Hilly! I think she'll like it too. Haven't figuread out what forces is going on when whacking big stamps but here sure are forces and ways to del with it. I saw some people prefferred a metalhammer (!) some rubber some dead blow types. I use a 42oz deadblow and keep my work to the ground and lay my bodyweight over the stamp and then strike. Tom
  25. Thanks guys! Yeah that stamp is tough to handle, just gotta be firm with it. The liner fabric is some sort of satin blackish red colour with black decorations on it. It really was a good find for this project. BTW, the liner was difficult to glue since it is so thin. Had to remake it one time 'cuz the first one was bleeding through and looked bad. Tom
