  1. Good diff. Ray. Better than the run of the mill plastic USB's!
  2. We put our clocks forward a couple of weeks ago here in Tassy. I think we have it for 6 months. Tony.
  3. I had a friend once who had that many wrinkles on his brow, he was able to screw his hat on!!! Tony.
  4. Skippy is stuffed, now Ray! We still have umpteen millions of Skippys' cousins hopping around the paddocks though! The child star, Tony Bonner, is suing for royalties as they never thought it would be shown around the world for so long. Whenever I see a 'roo, I picture meat or skin. Tony.
  5. Yes, that was it. He called his mrs a "Silly old moo".
  6. Yeah, we had all those shows down here and like Ray, I didn't take to the Waltons, they were too sickly-sweet for me. Another one that was good was "Paladin" with Richard Boone. Ray, what was the name of the show that had Alf Garnett in it? Tony.

They must have been out for about 30 years. These are the only type I've seen. Tony.
  8. Well, we even have a public holiday for the Hobart Cup! The ladies need a day to show off their new dresses and hats and get drunk and stagger home shoes in hand!
  9. We hold the Melbourne Cup here in Australia next week. It is the richest race in Australia and there are races every day in the lead up to it. On the news today it said two US entertainers were at a big dinner last night. Jerry Lewis and Kenny Rogers were on stage. They must be getting on in years now and I'm surprised that they still travel overseas to do shows! Tony.
  10. And another TV series I enjoyed was "The Outlaws". It was about some old gunslingers who were sent into the future by a hundred years. An Australian actor, Rod Taylor, was in the show. Tony.
  11. I also liked Gary Cooper. One good old movie that I wouldn't mind seeing again is the "Wild Bunch" Really entertaining! Tony.
  12. I can remember Hoppy coming to Hobart and I must have only been 8 or 9 then. He rode a white horse up the main street and held a performance at the Strand theatre and I thought it was fantastic! They had an old John Wayne movie on tv a week or so ago it was called Fort Apache. Shirley Temple and Henry Fonda were co. stars and it was in black and white! I used to like watching Rawhide,Wagon Train. About 40 years ago, during the school holidays, they ran episodes of Gene Autry, Hopalong and RoyRogers every day and I had to watch them. I think I enjoyed them more than the kids. The first cowboy comic book I can remember was I think, called Captain Justice. Can anyone else remember this comic? There are no good western tv shows these days are there? Used to love the character Gabby Hayes in the old shows! Tony.
  13. Looking at that Jones machine stand you've given me a good idea for an old original Singer 7-5 stand ( that actually has pedals ),I have out in the backyard. It would make a good little bench for something because it's solid and only needs a top. Tony.
  14. What is a Jones stitcher? It looks similar to a Pearson. Tony.
  15. You're lucky! It's just dropped to $1.50 a LITRE here in Tassy. Tony.
  16. Great site Bruce. Link doesn't work for me either! Tony.
  17. There used to be a drink called Bonox years ago and I think that may have been made with a beef extract too. I've never tried Bovril. One of my wife's cousins arrived yesterday after a weeks holiday in Wyoming at some ranch droving cattle and they actually had vegemite there. To quote her she said "The Yanks put it on so thick". She had a good time though except for the blizzard and snow. I actually much prefer Promite on toast rather than Vegemite, it's just that little bit sweeter. Here is a snap of both items. Tony.
  18. Would you believe that some people actually make a drink out of it! Not me.
  19. That's the way, Kate. I'll try anything once. I've only ever found a revolting food once and that was pickled Sea Urchin. Didn't like it at all. Tony. You mustn't put the Vegemite on too thick, just give it a light smear over some hot, buttered toast.
  20. I gather from his very neat attire he was the overseer! Tony.
  21. I love duck, especially nice big muscovies with a rich cream gravy! Tony.
