  1. That Angel Oak tree is incredible and it is unbelievable that it is still alive. It is sad to think that there must have hundreds of these old trees once and now there are so few. The trees in general must be the oldest living things on the planet and yet they are hardly given a thought unless they make headlines. Tony.
  2. They are really good quality, Timbo.
  3. Thanks, Crystal. Very interesting reading. We have some very old trees here also. They harvested one Huon Pine in the mid 70's when they dammed the Gordon River and it was purported to be 3000 years old. Look up Huon Pines on Google, good reading! Tony.
  4. In the local paper here in Tasmania, the state forestry say they have found a 101 metre Swamp Gum. It is second only to a Coast Redwood in Redwood National Park in the US which is 115 metres. They say the gum may have been taller had not an unknown amount broken off over the past 400 years. The one beside it is 86 metres. They didn't say how old the Redwood is. Does anyone here know? Tony
  5. I make a lot of halters for gallopers and pacers and I now only use S/S. Brass is nice but it actually wears out as dirt and sand rubs where the strapping meets the metal and it isn't as strong as the rings will bend with enough strain on them. CP is strong but but will eventually rust.Diecast stuff beaks easily, I'm always replacing busted diecast buckles and harness rings that aren't welded . They buy cheap imported stuff from China and India then have to spend more to have it made as it should be made. Definetly no to diecast. Tony.
  6. And as soon as Christmas is over the Easter eggs will be on the shelf!!!
  7. Yeah, it started here mid Sept. They like to get in early!
  8. Nope, still don't work!
  9. It keeps saying it is forbidden to view the photos you have included. Tony.
  10. Are sewn? I can't see any stitching. Tony.
  11. You've been watching too many blue movies if you think you have an inadequate abacus.
  12. Yeah, me too Greg!!!
  13. You could buy a lot of new leatherworking gear with a Mill, Ian.
  14. Do some rattle snakes grow that large? Tony.
  15. I Just heard a bloke on our radio say that with the amount of money they want they could give every resident of the US a million dollars. That would be appreciated by some of you blokes and do you reckon it is a good idea? Tony.
  16. Another thing that's real nice is stuffed ox heart. Real good cold when it is cold and easier to slice. Of course lambs fry in a nice onion gravy is great and so is lambs fry cut up small and fried with chopped onions and bacon and then have on a slice of toast. Tastes great! Tony.
  17. Not just in your country either, Ian.
  18. It only went for a miniscule 90 minutes though!!! I think they only stopped for one breath though.
  19. Great pictures and there are some gifted workers in the leather trade. One complaint about the globe of the world though, there is a whole state, which is Tasmania, left off the map. Tony.
  20. I suppose all you blokes are glued to the tv watching the debate instead of working!!! Pollies always know how to spoil your day, don't they? Tony.
  21. Hi Dave. I didn't even know there is a Leatherworkers Guild in NSW. Tony.
  22. What part of the world are you in, Ken? Tony.
  23. Thank you.
  24. What is Etsy? Tony.
  25. Forgot to add that when in the Northern Territory a few years ago I had buffalo and camel at different bbqs. The buff was great but the camel was revolting! Tony.
