Someone asked the other day if any of us have modified tools. This isn't about modification but about a useful tool for the workshop. A few years ago I was doing a lot of repetition work and the two pieces were glued together so I found an old washing machine wringer on the tip that cost me absolutely zilch and ran them all (2000) through that to remove any air bubbles. It worked a treat and I still use it now and then.

There is a Carr Press for sale on Ebay. I see that some of you blokes have trouble installing what you call "Line 24 snaps" ( we call them Durables out here) but using this press they're a breeze. I have 2 of these in my workshop and have put in thousands of Durables and 2 piece rivets with them all you need are the appropriate setting dies. The item # is 2602 5106 0525.

When does the US hold Fathers Day? Here in Australia it is in September. Here in Tassy a good rule of thumb for the angler is that Brown trout start spawning about Mothers Day and the Rainbow about Fathers day.

Here is a belt I made for my son's 18th. yesterday. I don't usually make this type but it was easy and quick and I wanted to give him something personal. The buckle ( Tony Lama } I've had for well over 20 years but never used.
I couldn't imagine cutting leather with anything apart from a round or headknife or a plough guage although I do sometimes use my pocketknife in a pinch! They do have to be sharp to get good results and it makes life so much easier.
