  6. Someone asked the other day if any of us have modified tools. This isn't about modification but about a useful tool for the workshop. A few years ago I was doing a lot of repetition work and the two pieces were glued together so I found an old washing machine wringer on the tip that cost me absolutely zilch and ran them all (2000) through that to remove any air bubbles. It worked a treat and I still use it now and then. Tony.
  7. Hi Trev. Looks good! Did you import it or buy it in NZ and what are they worth? Kind regards, Tony.
  8. There is a Carr Press for sale on Ebay. I see that some of you blokes have trouble installing what you call "Line 24 snaps" ( we call them Durables out here) but using this press they're a breeze. I have 2 of these in my workshop and have put in thousands of Durables and 2 piece rivets with them all you need are the appropriate setting dies. The item # is 2602 5106 0525. Tony.
  9. Thanks Art.
  10. When does the US hold Fathers Day? Here in Australia it is in September. Here in Tassy a good rule of thumb for the angler is that Brown trout start spawning about Mothers Day and the Rainbow about Fathers day. Tony.

  22. I couldn't imagine cutting leather with anything apart from a round or headknife or a plough guage although I do sometimes use my pocketknife in a pinch! They do have to be sharp to get good results and it makes life so much easier. Tony.
