Most of the time can not get to the PMs. The only thing to drop down is your profile most of the time. Have to sign out and back in and sometimes it will work. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you

This has cleared things for me. Some things just look better than others, and now I see the why of it. Thank you.

The pewter is very low temp. some will almost melt by a match. Brass is around 1500 to 1800f. for casting temp. Need different equipment to do the melting. The molds need to be better also. 100.00 to melt pewter, and 5000.00 for the equipment with brass.

Pewter is not strong enough for good belt buckles. It is only good for light load items like conchos that have no pull on them.

I call them a Whitney (SP) Hand punch. The Whitney made in US was a fine tool for metal. Have used imports that were at best Junk. For leather they will tear the hole not cut. Spend your money on drive punches. Elliot Can anyone tell me if these particular punches are good? Also is there a name for them? I can get one relatively cheap so I was looking for info on it, seems like a good idea for punching belts and straps. Thanks for looking. Kevin

When punching small holes, make sure the slugs are coming out. A little glue will plug them up and then split the punch. Use a small wire to check and push out the slugs. Have a punch like your picture not a Sargent, 6 tubes OO up to 5/32 Dim. Pm me if you want to buy.

Where are you located, and when is this needed? I may be chrome tanned leather and doesn't tool well or at all. It could be hot stamped or branded for what you want. Elliot

When using modeling tool or spoon to transfer the pattern don't press any harder than needed. Pressing to hard will curl or break the craftaid. I like to use a roller.
