  5. Spider, That is one outstanding purse! Love the color and the tooling. Very clean lines. Making it larger was a great idea. LOVE IT!!!! PANTHER
  6. Fred, If the item you'er making requiers a stiffener then you are right, the panel being the stiffener. PANTHER
  7. FredF You should cement the lining to the flesh side of your bag. That way it doesn't move around on you as you sew. I like a smooth lining not a loose one so I cement the whole thing to the inside. But if you like a loose lining like your purse then just cement around the edges. Thats how I do it. Hope this helps. Others may have another way of doing it though. PANTHER
  8. DJ That is a beautiful piece of work! I'm sure she is going to be delighted with the case. Will you add a strap to it or does it attach to a belt? Panther
  9. Really, Really like those seats! Great job as always. Panther
  10. Very nice bead work. You did a nice job incorperating it onto your belt. I do beading also and know what a pain it can be sometimes chasing those little suckers around with a needle. Good job!!
  11. Really great looking seat!! Nice job.
  12. Cowboy316 It's a medical scalpel. The blades are micro sharp and should be handled with extra care. There are different shaped handles and about 20 different shaped blades. I have three different handles and mostly use #10, 11, and 12B size blades. Here is a picture of the handle I covered. I have friends in the medical field so get mine for free. Leatherwranglers sells the handle and # 11 blade. It's at the bottom of their page and the cost is reasonable. [leatherwranglers.com/products.html] PANTHER
  13. Yes, there is a compatibility chart in the book also. The book has a wealth of info in it and you wouldn't go wrong in adding it to your other leather books. It's called," Coloring with Eco-Flo." Tandy has it. PANTHER
  14. Thanks. After I formed it I let it dry out,(harden). Took about six hours. Then diluted the stain with water and dunked it in that solution for about five seconds. Let it dry overnight then applyed three coats of leather sheen. PANTHER
  15. Really a fine job! Just beautiful PANTHER
  16. RustyMelton The instructions call for Leather Weld or Leather Cement. I used Leather Cement. PANTHER
  17. Hi All Eco-Flo has a new book out as a guide to using their dyes, stains etc. In the back of the book Peter Main has a guide on how to make a handle from leather mache.Thought I'ed give it a try. If you do try this do wear gloves. It's like working with sticky clay. I didn't want to spend a lot of time in cutting up leather so I put my leather bits in a blender I use for some of my other crafts. It worked great! This I believe would work well for those of you who do a lot of embossing. Saves a load of time. As you can see, I made mine a bit thicker and I molded it to fit my hand as I lay my first finger along the spine of the blade when I cut. This gives me better control with my grip I feel. Anyway take a look. Its nothing special but it was fun to make. PANTHER
  18. LOVE IT! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!! Wish I could go to the Faire just to see it in the flesh, so to speak. GREAT JOB!!!!!!! PANTHER

  22. McJeep Sorry for the misunderstanding. I am talking about his 4 styles of Celtic Knots. He does refer to them as Celtic Knot Fonts. When I first started I did print out the keyboard strokes and kept it by my computer to refer to, but now I can just type out my designs without looking. But I have had eight years of using the program. When I like a design I do print it out and keep it in a binder devoted to Celtic Knotwork. I did use some of the designs that comes with the program when I first started. I think this helped me to learn faster because I would play with trying to change his original designs and this helped me understand what would work and not work, what a capital "A" did as opposed to a small "a", or an Outline font as opposed to an Inverse font for an example. Anyway just play with it and have fun. I do love this program and would tell you to get all 4 fonts if you can because each one will give you a wide range of effects to add to your artistic efforts. Hope this helps and clears up the misunderstanding Panther
  23. John and Zhen That case is outstanding!! I think it is the best I have ever seen. Wonderful job. Panther
  24. Wildrose Don't buy it again. Just burn the floppy to a cd. And if you don't have a burner have a friend who has one do it for you. I posted this site here a couple of months ago. I've had his program for about eight years now. Have all the fonts. It really is a fun program to use. Good luck with the transfer. PANTHER
  25. Evening All Just thought I'ed post these. A guy came into the Tandy store one day when I was there and wanted someone to clean his weight belt that had been in storage for over twenty years. Wanted to give it to his son. The manager asked me if I would do it cause he was too busy. I said sure ---- big mistake! Anyway he brings it in and I wanted to call a HAZMAT unit. The thing was covered in mold, dirt and who knows what else. He then tells me if I can get it clean he would like their last name branded on the belt in western type lettering. So four months later this is the result. Not too bad if I do say so myself. He was quite happy with the results. The naxt photo is of some left over key fobs I made and sold last christmas. Made about sixty five of them which sold for between $8 to $15. This was the first time I made items to sell at a fair. Have a look. Panther
