  1. Thanks a load Panther:-) *S* I sooo appreciate your comment and even more happy you noticed the small details :-) I try to get small details like that into my designs if possible for visual interest. That is also how I came up with the tri-weave pattern for the ridge/end of the cover, I needed to connect the both sides somehow.
  2. I'm going to take this and get some practise pieces going...It might just work fine:-) Thanks for your kind words:-) I wish I had stronger hands or something...I think I drag those threads like cracy still it looks a wee bit "sloppy". I also have a superhard time keeping the white thread clean, it takes up crap and all kinds of stuff during the trip in the leather and the white is my favorite *grrrr*
  3. Mutual admiration for sure:-) I love the way your tooling comes out in every piece you make, I wish I could do this more traditional tooling but, it never works out right...This is Beautiful work:-)
  4. Great Thanks Friend:-) I'll try not to write the Ecco stuff of but...I'm still not sure I'm totally sold on the look of it yet. I like the Fiebings look just that one is a wee bit hard to control, maybe I get better at it with the TanKote? The pattern on this was not that hard at all, I think drawing it took the longest time:-) I mostly used the bevellers (including the pointed ones) and on the feathers I used B202L=R+L (I think the numbers are correct?) And then off course the modelers, could not do this without them, a very underestimated tool:-)
  5. Oki, I have that at home but never tried mixing them both...Next experiment:-)
  6. I've tried Fiebings, the paste in a small jar...This is the one I think I'm going to use in the future if nothing else shows up:-) *LOL* Thanks... I agree to a point, the stiching needs to get better and I really don't know how without a machine. A machine would give my work that nice finish I so want it to have.
  7. Thank you Kate:-) I'm working on the very last of the old Tandy medium brown antiquing...I hope I manage to find some other product to get me the same resault in the future (not using Eco-Flow, tried and did not like at all) Another tip I can give is always using a warm and a cold color so they work together, makes both of them "pop" more:-)
  8. Thanks a load Badger, I'm happy you liked it:-)
  9. I have been making this dayplanner cover for some time now and all I can say is...I got to get me one of them sewing machines. I'm soar in my arms it hurst in muscles my body forgott it had, the fingers feels like they're going to fall of and the time spent is Waaaay to much, Yiiks! Anyhow, I'm rather happy with the overall design I made and the colors. When we move back to Sweden I decided to get a more Scandinavian sounding name for my hobby and a proper logo, this might be it...For the moment the name is blurred out on the pictures on purpose. In many mythological tales the raven is originally white and I know there is white ravens in Canada so, I thought why not? They actually have blue eyes too:-) This planner covers a 9 3/4 x 7 1/2 inch booklet (25x19cm)
  10. I'm counting on you being there too:-)
  11. Hi, I use flash on all pictures taken indoors. I don't seam to have the problems you had on theses photos, maybe it's the camera (?) Anyways, if you learn a good photoprogram well you can always adjust things like this :-)
  12. Hi lil'bro, I love your Raven, being one of my top birds I think you did great and I agree with ClayB on your style...Make sure you keep it it's what makes it yours:-)
  13. Totally missed your answer... I agree, if you and Stacy comes over to Scandinavia you just have to stop by:-) We make sure the grill is fired up and something cold to drink and some dead cow to beat on

    Makers Mark

I found this company a while back...It looks like steel and the price is right:-) http://www.phillipsengraving.com/Leather_Stamps.html
  15. This is a good place to get them from in a size that fit your needs... http://thecuttingboardfactory.com/Merchant...tegory_Code=3WS
  16. *LOL* *I new I should have warned you in before time Ray and Massive Great Thanks for your kind words about my work:-) Ian Seriously, I'm not assamed at all and most people that knows me know what I'm doing. (I guess in all fairness, it's much easier from where I come)...It's simply business but i do have fun too and it is wonderful knowing someone will apriciate your work:-) In general: I just did not see what other people are doing on their own time in places where I have no business putting my nose in the first place had to do with a topic here on LW...Either you take the job offer or not, simple!
  17. Well...Lets put it out there and stop calling it "weird stuff" It is tools and equipment for the bondage/bdsm community that seams to have people making judgment for...For or against the most. I make things for that community, and some of the most beautiful things out there I'd like to think. I enjoy working with leather and I very seldom do I put lables or judge peoples different view of life or beliefs in any direction due to religion or sexuallity. Ontop, this group has never ever giving me a reason not to deal with them, they pay their bills in time and never tries shoveling their point of life/beliefs/ways down my throat...Just the type of customers most of us like to deal with in general. I would Love getting more work from them in the future:-)
  18. "My" place... http://www.ohiotravelbag.com/
  19. I can only go back a year and a half... The stuff I made back then is still just as when I painted/dyes them and some of them is just 2 feet away from a window. They seam to keep up really well.
  20. I soooo wish I could be there too... I agree with others "don't forgett the camera" and I'm sure you're going to be a success, your teaching skills shines thrue the computer screen
  21. I have found that having the leather slightly damp when dyeing (diluted or not) helps getting it more even and less worrie for big bleeding in small painted details. ...I'd Love to have an airgun (one of these days *S*)
  22. I paste a link here that I have found very useful...I do use some other products than the link suggests but the overall "how to" works well...Good Luck:-) http://www.clintfay.com/monthly_tips/monthlytipMar07.html
  23. All colors is very pigment strong and I discovered early on that I had to use a diluter. I use the actuall reducer now but have also used the neutral dye, I can't see a difference between them. I tried to use dental alcohol and some spirit bought on Lowes but it did not want to work properly, It might be a brand thing (or not?) I guess trial and error will do it? If you found something that works outside the Angelus brand, please let us know:-)
  24. *LOL* It was Peters talk about spirit dyes that made me going in the first place...I just had to get me some and I'm very happy with them. A bit tricky to paint with in the beginning when I started but I soon "got the hang of it". What I love is the clear colors and the way I can decide the strenght of them...I hope you remembered to get the reducer too? It is that one that makes all the difference in the world, for shading and such it's a must. I always get 2 quarts of it and I'm still short most of the times/// Have a fab weekend//T
