  1. I'm in Radford, where are you?
  2. I'll get my pics up in a couple of days....we stayed longer to "site see" with Ethan. Start to finish, we had a great time. The show hotel was good (not phenomenal, but no complaints), the restaurant food was excellent, banquet was tasty...and best of all: I got a first and a third in competition. It was great to meet Brent, see Johanna, and Silva (whom I'd not seen in many years). It was also fun to catch up with other familiar faces (Allan S. got quite a bit of my money! as did the raffle table...) I am really glad we went. I won't make Indy in the Fall as one of my fav cousins is getting married in NJ that weekend.
  3. My other friends used to joke about whether it was supposed to be a comment on my personality? LOL!
  4. We head out this afternoon to overnight in Charlotte before our a.m. flight to O'Hare. See you there!
  5. (I'm LOL right now because my best friend in middle school always spelled my name Holy....nice memory!) Actually, I think your way sounds better because I'm not a fan of bananas.
  6. I was annoyed our local paper called her a Brit! She clearly says she's from Scotland.
  7. That is really nice work. Perhaps the sanding was for the edges? I don't know, I'm not an "edging fanatic" myself. I would definitely buy something like this, and I bet most of my customers would too.
  8. Actually, we serve a sandwich called a "Banana Bob" at the cafe where I work part time: wheat bread, peanut butter, sliced banana, granola, and honey. It's a customer favorite.
  9. I would probably use an upholstery leather, 'cuz you could wipe it down, for a bib. As to the "man bag", there've been some nice ones posted lately.
  10. I've had this happen when (unknown to me) there was something on my fingers when I worked on the leather. I used rubbing alchohol and it stained okay after.
  11. Very nice work! I've got alot of those triquetra designs - it's one of my favorites.
  12. If you want to keep it simple, I recall that Tandy sells (sold?) a folding photo keeper, like that you could carry with you on trips or set up on your desk. I have one I did for my son's pics.
  13. I really like it. And I agree with 'Roo's suggestion about the book - I have a few of his.
  14. A KID broke the tail off a kitten stamp I'd had for a couple of years now...the one on a stem (Craftool), not the 3D
  15. It's a protective cover, not re-covering....guess I wasn't clear on that.
  16. I finished my second competition piece today, and am really looking forward to coming.
  17. Those are gorgeous! ps I think we should have a "just for fun"/"model your work" topic! For example, I've got one on my hubby with a shield I made (he just HAD to get his Starfire katana involved!):
  18. Years ago, I did this white, 3 ring binder style, that the couple wanted to use for a "guest book". It had a silver (kangaroo!) lining, with white interior pockets, and lettering inside trimmed in silver paint. What a job! Paid well though, as I recall.
  19. Yeah! That's the one I was talking about the other day when someone posted that "Lean on Me" vid.
  20. I fly in Fri. a.m. and back Tues., so we'll have a little extra time to visit the sites. Bringing my husband and son along.
  21. I love Rod Stanger too. I had the honor of taking some of his pieces in for competition one year (it was shipped to me), and I was stunned at the use of color as well as the design work itself. Simply gorgeous.
  22. I'm with John, it does almost feel like cheating! I have several design books that try to teach me how to draw my own...but I'm all about time savers like this font package!
