  1. Hey barbed wire, this is a good idea posting the stages as you make it, in fact i think more of us should do this more often, it really helps us all to learn when we see how other people work, great job.
  2. Hello eazyduz, tandy do this stuff if it helps. http://www.tandyleather.eu/en-gbp/9072-00.aspx?countryid=1032
  3. Well tele, you are a natural, if you play guitar half as good as you make them then you really do have some talent in your hands, take care my friend.
  4. Like those handles hun, i still have to have a go at some handles, are they padded at all?
  5. From the album: Creative stitching practice

I take no credit for t.he design which i nicked of verus after seeing his post, so i thought i would have a go at it, sorry verus
  6. You must be joking, if this is your first attempt then i am truly amazed, this is absolutely incredible, beautiful work, well done .
  7. Thanks yin, i was a bit unhappy with the stitching on this one, it is dyed with ecoflow medium brown, the thread is actually beige 1mm cheap stuff from china, but i find it ok for my own stuff, would use tiger thread if i was selling my stuff.
  8. From the album: Yorkshire rose wallet

Thought i would have a go at a yorkshire rose.
  9. Looking good, stitching wallets is always hard as you need to get both sides looking the same which is not easy at the best of times, but on a wallet it is even harder.Great work, looking forward to seeing the inside pics.Have you considered trying turned edges, here is a picture of one i did with turned edges, not trying to hijack the thread just putting ideas to you. Take care.http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=galleryℑ=28437
  10. Hi windrider, have you thought about airbrushing on to the leather, maybe a nice sunburst effect or even stenciling.
  11. It does make you worry for someone who might place an order with this guy, totally out of line. If he really is a christian he will not be going to heaven behaving like this.
  12. Hello rusticbob, there is nothing wrong with that , i bet your dad will love it, you seem to be on the right track. I too have only been leatherworking for a short time, it is indeed a very rewarding thing to do.Keeps us on the sraight and narrow.
  13. Welcome to the forum, you have some very nice pieces of work on there, this is a very good forum.
  14. I think you can pay for expidited shipping on goods japan. If that helps
  15. Could not agree more on the book recommendation.
  16. I have to say, i was suprised how much money i have had to spend on tools for leathercraft, when you set out you think all you need is a knife, ruler, and needle and thread. Boy was i ever wrong.
  17. Hey Huns, this is looking fantastic, kids would love it, in fact anyone would love it,i am definitely not a kid anymore and i love it.
  18. Hey Martin, i really enjoyed your website , you are a real craftsman. Sorry for getting the wrong end of the stick, nothing new for me. I am starting to thinkk maybe along the lines of a clicker press type of idea. You might not need to buy an expensive version, i have heard of people having a die made and then using a cheap hydraulic type of press with it. This way the leather will stay where it is.This way you would just stamp out the piece rather than cutting it.In fact thinking about it, if you were only using it for that thickness of leather you might get away with quite a light duty type of press.I am off now to enjoy some more of that beautiful music on your website.
  19. I assume this is for lining something, can you not glue it to the piece first and then trim it to size after, sorry if it is not for lining something.
  20. Hi sorry i can offer no advice as i am a beginner, but i had to tell you i think this is fantastic, what a great idea.
  21. Hey everyone, just thought i would mention something i just tried. I was having trouble finding suppliers of wallet window material over here in the UK, and was trying to find something i could use to make a bus pass holder with a window, my wife suggested using laminating pouches, so i ran one through the machine without anything inside it, and guess what?it is perfect and does the job with no problems whatsoever. Just thought i would pass on the tip in case anyone else has the same problem. Take care.
  22. I do wish people would stop posting work of this standard, it makes me feel so inadequate , but seriousley this is stunning work, thanks for sharing.
  23. Thanks benlilly, that is very interesting to know, i really hope he can give us mere mortals some insight into how he creates these amazing poeces, take care.
  24. I need to have a go at this, i once saw Nigel Armitage do something sinilar on his facebook page, but i cannot find it again, anyway thanks for the inspiration.Take care.
  25. Samar , this work blows my mind, please could you give a little insight into how you do this, in particular the dyeing, i feel depressed now, just when you think you are getting somewhere with your leathercraft someone always posts something incredidible like this an d shoots me right back down to earth, boy do i have a long way to go, hope i live long enough to get this good. Is one lifetime enough?lol.
