  1. I like the ropers better.
  2. Thanks.
  3. What ratios did you use?
  4. Thanks guys. This will come in "handy".
  5. Ryobi (and harbor freight) isn't really known for precision or tight tolerances.
  6. I may have to go into hawk but I want some 3/4 ounce.
  7. I have that set up and the pro edge went deep enough to set on the shaft. Worse case scenario, take something and cut the threaded area off the shaft. You'll still save 500 bucks.
  8. Great job.
  9. It was listed as top grain. Do you think it has a finish on it?
  10. Yes. I know it's not supposed to be good against metals. So no holsters or sheaths. But, messenger bags, saddle bags, wallets, purses, clutches, belts, etc. It'll be ok for? What about clothing? I'm testing some scrap now against neatsfoot, aussie, and glycerine liquid soap to see about how to condition it. It seems to me that it already has a finish to it but I'm not sure.
  11. Marking for later.
  12. So???? Can I use this stuff in pretty much any item (not counting tooled stuff)?
  13. Thanks Olle.
  14. No, never, Max.
  15. Thanks. That gives me motivation to set up the machine i bought my wife in June. She hasn't touched it yet.
  16. I send all fellow newbies to your site for patterns. Thanks for the insight tink. Not having a machine at all makes it hard to imagine how they can be utilized. One day i may get one, but for now it's curiosity.
  17. That's racist. Lol That's racist. Lol I would clear coat that bad boy. It looks awesome.
  18. Perhaps you could make a useful video and title it "useful whatever video". Last night i searched to find a video about useing a cylinder arm machine. I didn't really find anything showing how to take advantage of that cylinder bed. I mean how do you really get the most bang for your buck out of it? All i see are people sewing belts or scraps. Someone show how handy it really is...... This is your mission, Jeff, should you choose to accept it. Your screen will explode in 30,29,28,27................
  19. Here's a pic of wallet in chocolate.
  20. Mine are smooth finish. I just probably heard too much bad mouthing of top grain in my learning stage. I bought one in chestnut and one in chocolate. They are pretty and the flesh side is finished better that anything tandy has sold me. 56.00 a side seemed a bargain to me with free shipping on 100.00+ orders. I'll post a pick of the wallet in chocolate in a bit.
  21. So, is it fine for anything you would make out of full grain? Keep in mind it is chrome tanned. Thanks for the replies.
  22. I meant to say "anything" else. The help iI I get here from everyone here is immeasUrable.
