  1. I also have a Nelly. But no sewing machine.
  2. Great looking bag. But, I am completely baffled by it and haven't had enough coffee to even formulate my first question.
  3. Great information. Thanks.
  4. That's great news. Thanks for your service.
  5. I'm also curious to how long it will last.
  6. So you just sand and paint the edges, and that's it? They look remarkable.
  7. Here is a similar thread I started about saving some money.
  8. Another thing or two I notice is ..... Sand your edges smooth and flat before marking the stitches (This will straighten those lines up). This is more of an educated guess, but maybe your thread is too large in relation to you stitches per inch. My own stuff had that crammed look until I got the right mix of awl, thread, spi, and needle size. The color and thread contrast look great. Hope this helps and keep having fun.
  9. Lots of nice stuff. I like the tooling on the strap in particular. And the tank dash. That is some good carving work.
  10. Never fear the machine experts will be along shortly.
  11. Good job. I'm assuming you already knew how to sew?
  12. That is a great deal. Good luck with your sale.
  13. Looks great. Happy Anniversary.
  14. Looks really cool. I notice a band aid in the last picture.
  15. If you look up higher he has ho belt blanks, embossed and plain.
  16. Wow, what a great piece. I didn't even know you could get carp and toad leather.
  17. Springfield leather is a great resource. They have lots of entertaining videoes and a layer back sales approach. As for jumping into hobbies, I'm with ya. I was going to start reloading. I bought a book on reloading and all of the tooling. I held off on buying a press because I wasn't going to rush a hobby that makes explosions. 4 years later I still have all that stuff, and still haven't bought a press. Where abouts are you located?
  18. Here is something that would be perfect for a burnisher. http://www.tolindsewmach.com/motors.html I don't know the shaft size, but it's a servo motor with adjustable speed and a mount. $135.00 shipped sounds like a great start to a burnisher.
  19. I don't want to shoot it then. Cheers
  20. Is that a 3" gp100? I love those. I would trim it if it were me. I'm not much on suggestions because I'm still kind of green myself. Let me add. It looks like you have plenty of room in the holster so this may be an option..... Put another line of stitches closer to the gun. Slice off along the outside stitching and then wet mold the holster, sand and burnish the a edge. That's what I would do. Looks like you're off to a great start.
  21. Thanks for that. I guess it won't show it to me.
