Roger, Shirley talked about it briefly in her USMC seat thread. It is basically a three forward, two backward lacing pattern.....Like the basket weave, but with no "under" lacing. Hope that is clear. Where ever the basket weave pattern requires you to thread your lace under previous lacing, you just keep it on top.....hence "fast" basket weave. It ends up looking like a herringbone pattern. Had this artwork requested from SPS West. It was an interesting challenge. I've never done Victorian Scroll type work before and had never connected it with motorcycles. I'm a fan of spraying on neat lac....I don't like the little fuzzies from sheepskin, I never use the stuff for anything, but that is just a personal thing....being alergic to wool might have something to do with it too. As far as the purpose of neat lac; it will stop crocking instantly. Crocking is the tendency of black to rub off, it will also protect antiquing paste. Neat Lac will also add a gloss to your finished product. I use it on all my black seats. But use this stuff outside or get a spray booth....it is a pretty nasty lacquer compound. Hey Tom, That pan looks about the size of the Bandidos seat. How are you going to wrap the leather around the front of the seat?....It looks like there are pieces welded perpendicular right at the edge of the seat. I hope my question is clear....just not sure how you are going to do the leather part of that. Is this going to be a springer seat? Those air suspensions look pretty cool, wonder how well they work and how rigid they mount to the frame.....I have no experience with them. Cool bike. Dave Theobald

This seat is finally finished....these big seat take a lot more time than the smaller solo seats. I've shown a "regular" SPS seat next to it for scale. I never cared for the proportions of the bigger seat, but this one looks ok to me. Critiques, and comments always welcome.
