  1. So, Windy, you've seen LSD induced hallucinations? I'm shocked! Dag Dag, To quote my favorite character(Ernst T. Bass)from The Andy Griffith Show. " ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies" WINDY.........HAS SEEN EVERY SHOW MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT
  2. Lilies as seen while doing LSD. WINDY

If my memory serves me and it usually does not. Neat Lac is a combo of neats foot oil and lacquer. As David pointed out you can still buy the Deft Brushable Lacquer at most of the home stores. Now not being a chemist I would not feel comfortable telling you to mix it up and see what you get. Albeit you never know what will work till you try. I can tell you one thing when you use the Deft inside it is best to leave the room. That stuff will get you higher than a bottle of the good whiskey. It does give one beautiful finish on wood. Not to mention it dries in 30 minutes. WINDY
  4. the main mantra I use for that is that you can only craft as good as the TOOLS you have. Crud tools do not give quality work. Thank you for reading. from the other side Suze Surely you jest when you make such a statement. In the right hands the crudest tool will give great results.A true master can work with anything. WINDY
  5. Looks like the silver Mylar lacing Tandy sells. WINDY
  6. The book is correct. Practice it on some scrap afore you try it on the seat. WINDY
  7. The ring is produced by the smoke. The red color has nothing to do with the wood being cherry. I have smoked meat for years using all kinds of wood. They all produce a red ring in the meat. The different woods will impart a different flavor in the meats. The fruit woods are favored by many. When it comes to pork I prefer Maple. For chicken my palate runs towards oak. With turkey sausages I just love them smoked. Of course with beef brisket I have to go with oak again. As always this is just my most humble opinion. WINDY ...........checking the freezer for some brisket
  8. I bout tossed my cookies reading that. WINDY
  9. Well how do you say this in a nice way. Since you have not adorned them with any creative carving or heavily tooled them ,they seemed to be priced right. I think you would have a hard time selling them at a higher price with them not being any fancier than they are. From a simpletons stand point they look rather easy to make. Frankly I am surprised more people do not make their own.If you want to charge more I make the inside a little nicer. You only had one inside view that I saw and it was unfinished and the seams were not symmetrical. Of course you know your customers better than I know them. If I was curious as to how much one would pay for an item like this, I would make a couple just a wee bit fancier with a higher price tag. There always seems to be one person who wants the most expensive of everything so that they can brag about how much they paid for said item. I figure that the vikings did not ordain their helmets very much. I will bet that at least one somewhere in time has done some fancy work to one. There is always one creative guy in the field who will go the extra step either out of boredom or just cause he has the talent to do so. Once again this is just my most humble opinion. WINDY.............Wondering why he has never made a helmet.
  10. John, I could not agree more with your statements on Jack being the man. I was at the Derby City Classic a couple of weeks back. I met Jack at his booth and his cases are something else. Very nice work. I personally think all floral carving is ugly as home made sin. However the workmanship was very very nice. Of course this is just my most humble opinion. WINDY............In awe of Jack's cases. P.S. Jack is also a very nice person and a member of this forum.
  11. I really like the tree , great job. WINDY
  12. And Windy, I was trying to be polite with the "if". Ask the guys in Vegas who is going to win and what the point spread is. Go STEELERS! Johanna (who always liked Jack Lambert) Johanna, I should have known you were being nice. The problem is , I am not a nice person so I do not see it when others are being nice. I have been told I need to work on being nicer.Alas if I was nice then them bricklayers could not call me mean and nasty names anymore. I have been getting better after reading all the nice things people on here have to say.One might say it is rubbing off on me. WINDY .........NOT QUITE NICE BUT MAYBE SOMEDAY
  13. I understand your frustration. After looking at your web site I would suggest that you heed your own words. Go and change all those "I made" into the truth of "my company made". Talk about misleading as one can get. When I read "I made" I take to mean you made it personally, when in all reality your team made it. Of course this is alright since you admit to not taking the high road all the time. WINDY
  14. You call yourself a fan ,yet you said "if" they win. A true fan would have said "after" or "when". Of course not being a fan of football I really could care less. However since my mother is pulling for the Steelers , I for her sake hope they win, since her Bengals did not get arrested enough this year to make the playoffs. WINDY.....LIKES FATMAN SPORTS ,FISHING AND POOL
  15. When in need you can always have them plated. Look up metal plating in the yellow pages or online. Or if you are so inclined you can follow the link below to get yourself a nickel plating kit and do it yourself. Of course the kit is not cheap. http://www.caswellplating.com/kits/nickel.htm WINDY
  16. Why can't you charge enough for your time? Is there a law I have missed somewhere? Please explain this to me. Nice work on the bags Sawyer. WINDY
  17. I saw the Frog Tape on one of them DIY shows and wondered if it worked as good as they said. Now I know. Thanks Bree. WINDY
  18. TrooperChuck What can I say , I like to see that guy pick up a pile of elephant dung and squeeze the moisture out of it right into his mouth. I mean come on now that is entertainment at its best. I bet the guy on Bizarre Foods probably choked watching that scene. WINDY
  19. Kathy, I just saw a similar design on Etsy last week I believe this one was a belt buckle. I did note that the guy made them himself. Danged if I can remember what I was searching for when I found them. I believe he silver soldered them together. WINDY
  20. They could take each ferret into a room ,hook it up to an electric shock machine. Show a photo of the seabird and shock the ferret. Then show a photo of a cute furry bunny while giving the ferret food. Do this a few million times and then get the next ferret in the room. A perfect plan if you ask me. WINDY ............Behavioral Scientist in the making.
  21. Ed , It sounds like you need a hand plane. You can adjust the depth the blade will cut and since it has hand powered it is easy to control. I imagine since mine will cut the hardest wood with ease they should cut leather. Hand planes come in many sizes and various blade angles. If I get the chance this weeekend I will try my planes and let you know. I might even try my cabinet scrapers on some leather to see how it works. I can not help but feel somewhere in the history of leather working there must have been a cross use of tools between wood workers and leather workers. WINDY .....Confused wood worker and leather worker.
  22. TrooperChuck, I have my ways. I will have that hat out to you in no time. I will make it double walled for you for extra protection. If your head were a little larger I could have sent you one of my old hats. WINDY
  23. Adam, When I clean my air brush , I always clean till it runs clear then I hold my finger or a tightly wrapped rag over the tip to create back pressure to make sure you get all the gunk out. Then repeat the entire process. WINDY
  24. I find the easiest way to keep lids from sticking is plastic wrap. I just pull out a piece rip it off and place it on the container right afore I place the lid on. If I perchance forget , then I get out the channel locks and crank it off.Only thing is if you have a glass jar you best be very careful on how tight you squeeze the pliers. You could end up with a hand full of glass along with a few cuts and a lot of your own blood oozing all over your best work shirt. WINDY
  25. Surely you jest TrooperChuck. I have never heard of the news media being biased. To even suggest such a thing leads me to believe you must be holed up in a shack out west hiding from the government evil spies that they have planted amongst all of us sane people. Would you like me to share with you my pattern for making aluminum foil hats. They will protect you from the governments new top secret mind reading ray guns that can pierce the thickest of walls right to your brain and send back all of your private thoughts. I have been wearing mine since I noticed all my ideas showing up in the new TV shows. Someone was stealing my thoughts and ideas without my knowing.Since donning the aluminum foil hat no more of my ideas have shown up on the new TV shows. WINDY...........BETTER KNOWN AS SHINEY HEAD .
