I have to ask why you would buy the most expensive wood in the world to make burnishers. Outside of that weird wood in China snakewood is the highest price wood I have ever seen. Does it have some mysterious oil that slicks leather like nothing else? WINDY

I made a few years ago. I put one on my front door as a door bell. Funny thing is only smart butt kids use it for what I intended. Everyone else pushes the button on the door bell that has not worked since 1967. Oh my brother rings the ships bell I have mounted next to the front door.Silly me I laced the bells on mine. WINDY

If you want to ask a legal question you should ask a lawyer not a leather worker wannabe lawyer. A couple of years ago while taking a class on pottery. A guy was making plates with the University of Cincinnati and University of Kentucky logos. He was donating them to a charity auction. Well someone ask if this was legal. After everyone who was not a lawyer gave him conflicting advice ,he called the University of Cincinnati. He ask them if he was allowed to make the plates with their logo. He said that they said "no" he was not allowed to use their logo even for his own personal use or any others not even charity. Then he said they would OK it this time. Now this is all coming from him since I was not the one making the call. Once again I would tell you to call a lawyer when you want legal advice and call a leather worker when you want leather advice. I am sure you will get ten answers saying yes you can and ten saying no you can not.Just remember where the advice is coming from. WINDY ... Not a lawyer not do I play one on www.leatherworker.net

David, Is that Friendship In. where they hold the largest muzzle loader event in the world. The one where people from as far away as Japan come to shoot and have fun dressed in old mountain man clothing. Cook over open fires and chat with friends as the flames dance till the wee hours in the morning. Or is it another Friendship In. somewhere I have never heard of. WINDY

A little tweaking around the eyes. Twist them to match the jaw and you should have it.I would make the head rag cover the whole top of the head , of course this is just my most humble opinion.WINDY

After studying the hieroglyphics carefully , I can tell you that it belonged to the King of Persia long ago in a time we will never understand. The purpose of the container is to hold a multitude of balls with numbers on them. When the King could not make up his mind which one of his harem he wished to partake in carnal knowledge with him that night he would simply shake the container, then poor out the lucky womans number. I think you got your moneys worth. WINDY -
Tasha, I have to agree with Dale. If you plan on doing business with the public you will find this happens quite a bit. For different reasons each time. Some times the price is way more than thought and other times after they have had time to think it over while waiting on a price they realize they really did not want it. Sometimes they are shopping around , even if one is willing to pay for top quality work they will still shop around. After being in business for over thirty years , I have never called anyone and ask if they forgot me or if they still want something. I tell them all when I give them a price it is good for 15 days. After that I will have to re-evaluate the price due to the ever increasing price of supplies. If you get frustrated every time this happens you are in for a frustrating life. I know many artist who flat out refuse to do commission work for a multitude of different reasons. Mostly it turns out that an artists conception is never the same as the lay-mans (customer). WINDY

What is available in a US bar? Well in the bars I used to frequent you could get a good game of pool.A frozen pizza that tasted like cardboard along with a hunk of pickled bologna and a cracker. Of course after you finished your meal there were plenty of lonely women who needed someone to keep them warm. WINDY

My my my I would use the old hillbilly method. Fill a freezer baggie with water so that is just fits tight in your shoe. Then stick the shoe in the freezer when the water freezes it will stretch the shoe. WINDY

Well I am not a senior member but if you continue to read you will read my take on this subject. I too love using exotic skins in leather work and exotic woods in my wood working. Shucks I just like exotic things. Anywho way back about twenty years or so I made a cue case for myself from python and cobra. The first night I took it out with me, this huge monster of a man walked up to me and ask if it was real snake skin. I told him yes and which snakes I used. He looked down at me and said he owned snakes and could never have anything made from snake skin. I smiled as I looked at him and told him, I too owned a snake and I had no problem with making things from snake skins. The point is no matter what material you choose for your projects if you travel long and far enough you will run into someone who has a problem with your choice. You handled the situation better than most. I can not help but think of poor old Pam Anderson who complains constantly of the chickens killed by KFC everyday. Yet she never thought twice about taking the life of the poor silicones so that she could have larger breasts. Be thankful you did not run into one of the real kooks who throw blood on people who wear leather and fur coats at the fashion shows. WINDY...user of exotic skins in non exotic ways.

If you blow up the image , you will see that all the stitches have red lines either under them or next to them. I would venture to say they are hand drawn since they follow the texture of the leather up and down. WINDY

Well put. I have told many an artist " you can not get 1000 dollars for it if you only ask a 100 dollars". WINDY

Um, I see now after further study that what appears to be a corner is the wallet being curved up in the photo giving the appearance of what I seen as the corner. Had it been a full shot I would have seen this sooner. I did look and look and look and it just looks like a corner.Albeit after you said it is opened in the middle I looked and looked some more and low and behold I now see.Funny how photos can play tricks on ones eyes and mind. Right now I am drinking nothing,However in a few minutes after Psych ends I will make some some blueberry waffles with some home smoked sausage and drink a glass of skim milk. WINDY
