  1. well okedoke then its Michaels we go
  2. I have looked at Hobby lobby, and a few other stores here in town but didn't find them, maybe didn't locate the right department.
  3. Ya the stuff for veg is going to be much different than what might be used for chrome. I have a mixture of the 2 waxes equal parts mixed in with some neats foot oil that I will rub in till it is absorbed real well, I got that from others here that have tried the same thing.
  4. Use the search button to find what others have used to make their items more water resistance.
  5. I noticed that you are from the Baja area, so the question I have is where did the leather come from, I understand that a lot of the tanneries below the border us some questionable chemicals in the tanning process? Not sure if that might have something to do with it, I understand that the chajine (not sure on spelling) tannery is the better of all those in that area, might try and get some leather from there.
  6. How large is the bag going to be? Depending on the final finish you could try mink oil, bees wax, or a combo of beez and carnauba 50/50 mix and rub in real well that will give the leather some water resistance.
  7. nice looking item! Do you dip when you dye the leather? Thanks
  8. Thanks, I haven't had a chance to check them out yet but look forward to doing that.
  9. ok thanks I kind of figured it was a matter of finding some videos and practice, that is how I started with paracord bracelets.
  10. probably a dumb question but any good utube videos on this?
  11. I kind of struggled with the French he was speaken up above, but my question is, did you do any back stitching in that location? It seems to me that when I did my back stitching that would happen with my machine, I think I had to make some adjustments to the thread tension to correct the problem. I am certain that others will chime in, but think what you might have done when you sewed that item in comparison to others you have done.
  12. I cant get out to the garage till tomorrow this knee really got me in a bad way, But not sure you know but all those are available at Lowes or Home Depot In black or chrome, Ill check back with boards in the morning if y'all need sumthin.
  13. Thanks for the info and was certain that others would chime in on it's tenacity and use!
  14. I have the belt clips in both the short and long version, cut and paste a pic of the screw set up I might kin throw sumpthin together.
  15. being that this an old thread and time between the old and new posting maybe more will chime in as to use. I did do a google for the leather it seems a lot of it comes in from Italy and used for high end stuff and the leather can be bought from several different importers at a very reasonable price. I am go to be using some that I bought at hobby lobby for a very low cost with the 40% off coupon. So hopefully I will know soon enough if I want to buy more, and if it as tough as it the others claim it to be it will work out great.
  16. I was going to ask this very same question, but found this in my searching so why ask the same BUT. I am thinking about using it in wallet making and maybe in tote bags and things like that. So from what I read above it should work very well if not better in some cases for the items I mentioned, but what about availability and cost. I called Maverick and they don't have much of it and of all places I thought I would try Tandy and surprisingly they didn't have any and didn't seem to have much info on the uses that I want it for, but from reading the above, again it looks like it would fit the bill real well. Let me know what y'all think. I hope I made some sense to what I was asking, I just had a total knee replacement done and between the pain and the drugs I am in Lala land.

No worries dude I am laid up really good with the knee, PT 3 times a week other than just trying to tolerate the pain, just give a call your welcome anytime!!
  18. I wouldn't know who to direct you to, but I think there was a guy that sold one here not to long ago, that made some type of modification that allowed for operation with something other than the slot machine handle. Now if were me and it had a few bells and could make a wheel go round that looked like oranges and cherries I could yank on that handle like a mad man.
  19. did you figure out the pattern by eye ballen the one you liked, then went at it? And did you source the hardware from Tandy as well? Nice job, I have been putting things together items to start making some myself, the waxed canvas and leather and all leather. I wanted to find out how hard it is to make my own waxed canvas, it is a little more work but I can end up with more color choices that way.
  20. There are a few guys and Gals round here that own and use them so you should here back from some.
  21. Uwe, is that something that you have access to or is it something we would need to order from the Kwok co. Thanks Ron
