  4. I have an extra copy of Bruce Grant's braiding book (the one that Tandy sells) if you are interested. Happy Holidays!
  5. Try emailing 'Barra' for some reason I thought he was selling some stuff a while back. Also, I do not know if there is any relationship, but in the Leather craft and & saddlers' journal magazine, I recall seeing a similar name selling scraps? I believe they were located in the San Francisco, CA area? But don't hold me to it. I will see if I can get that information for you. Good luck and Happy Holidays.
  6. Just wanted to show you all my last two Christmas gifts to family. These will probably conclude all leather work for 2009. The portfolio is for a couple who teach ballroom dancing in Waco, Texas. The leather is Hermann Oak 6-7oz, EVOO, Fiebings Mahoganey dye for background, Fiebings dye Saddle Tan for overall color and Clear lac as a final coat. The clutch purse is Tandy Leather, and the rest stated above. The interior was a Chaylor-Fennell ROO. Lesson learned, check your interiors from C/F. I was going to dye this project lighter and was going to use a tan Calf interior (same stock number different leather) and retro fitted it to the leather. After finishing the carving, I really liked the color on the portfolio, so I decided to go with the same. I borrowed the black interior from Big Papa Leather and when I was ready to glue the interior, it turned out that the black and tan where different sizes in length and width. The black one was about 3/8" to 1/2" longer than the tan one and about 1/8 to 1/4" less in width. It wasn't a big deal, but someone extra that I had to work with. So check your sizes and do it twice for ole times sake. Merry Christmas to all!
  7. Very nice.....forget the beauty as long as it works.............It sure looks like it will work. Merry Christmas!
  8. damn......I am in the US and I can't get it.
  9. nice, really nice Storm. Happy Holidays!
  10. Really top notch work. Nice replication of the C. Hape's work. The flow is great to the semi-trained eye (me), of course. Happy Holidays

  12. Your off to a good start. If this is going to be a hobby, I would consider how much you want to spend. As far as a list of suppliers, you have many options. Who has everything you need depends. You will get so many answers here. I buy from a handful of suppliers it just depends. As for your 5 cord, I just happen to have a brand new spool. The thing is huge and unwaxed in an off white color. Send me an offer and it may be yours. It is just sitting on the floor wrapped in plastic taking up space. I thought at one point that I would Stolhman my thread, but I later realized that it would be too much work for me. I rather be carving and stamping. This is just my short list of suppliers. Tandy (on a pinch) Hidecrafters ~ Fort Worth Springfield Leather ~ just started buying from them and great service so far. Barry King Ellis Barnes Hackbarth, Elfrida, AZ Chuck Smith Tools, CA Weaver Siegal of California Good luck and Happy Holidays.

  17. Nice Project ideas you have there. Welcome to the forum and if I may offer some advice. Try using a scratch awl and drawing a line whereas you can use your punch to follow and thereby getting a straight line. If you have a groover or the fund to invest in one, that would work much better. Also, if your project work for your ideas of use, then they are PERFECT! Good luck and learn a lot from the masters here. Happy Holidays!
  18. Good luck and you should be 2/3 of the way to the Class 4 after that sale. Happy Holidays
  19. Welcome to the forum. Nice work for two months. Happy Holidays!
  20. Holy S_ _ _; I just had the same thing happen last night after purchasing some tan Tejas lace from my Tandy that I needed in a pinch. It happened to me, just about every 5-10 inches it broken. I spoke with my manager Dennis at the store this afternoon. He apologized and said to bring it in and he would replace it, no questions asked. He then told me that it happens every now and then. He gave me no problems. I do have some of Springfields ROO lace I purchased in the neutral color to dye it as I need. It appears to be very nice and I hope to start using it soon. Wow, it must be the whole lot. Good luck.
  21. I appreciate the comments Tim. I hope to post some other items by this weekend. Happy Holidays!
  22. Oh well. I guess I will have to sell both of my BK mauls and buy two of yours....hehe Got it! That will be my New Year's Resolution!! Thanks and Happy Holidays.
  23. Hidepounder's skull is bad ass, but way to far advance for me. Here is what I use to practice swivel knife cuts. I know that they are elementary, but they are good to get the muscles going and trained. Just print out the pictures and using tracing paper to copy the lines you want. Resize it to what you need, 4x4 is what I have. I made tapoffs. I grab a piece of scrap wet, tap and cut away. I have one more that I use, let me see if I can find it and I will post it. Good luck and Happy Holidays!
