The best "Not Off The Shelf" meat for me was introduced to me by a fella named Al E. Gator... ahahhahah I truly live for fresh Alligator! The other other white meat! Dip it in your favorite beer batter, and drop it in a fryer... Booyah ! I happen to live in a place where Alligator is abundant! I also LOVE Deep Fried Cajun Turkey! I bet I have cooked over 100 deep fried turkeys! I introduced it to some friends at a SuperBowl Party a few years ago and now I'm the "Official Turkey Cook"! It's the juiciest turkey you've EVER eaten (if you cook it right). However, be forewarned, IT IS DANGEROUS if not done properly. The only thing you really have to keep in mind is DO NOT DROP your turkey into the pot, LOWER IT IN SLOWLY! Dropping it in will cause FLAMMABLE PEANUT OIL to blop out over the edge and catch fire. Other than than that, once it's in the oil cooking, you have about 45 minutes of quality drinking time... for more info on how to Deep fry a turkey, just let me know! I'll toss out the whole proceedure so you can try it at home...

Flame Biker's Wallet
TroyS replied to HellcatLeathers's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Hellcat, I REALLY am a fan of flames and those are great! Your BBQ guy will love it! Wanna try something cool? (I did this to a motorcycle seat and it turned out spectacular) Take AtomWax and rub a very light coat on the flames only, allow it to dry, then buff it out. Once it's buffed, stain your wallet. You'll see that the AtomWax acts as a restraint for the stain and you end up with lightly stained flames over a heavily stained background! Looks awesome! Can't wait to see it finished! -
That's a fine seat! Can't wait to see the finished product!

For the record, Jim Beam & Coca-Cola! Oh, and it don't quite taste the same unless it's in a Mason Jar!

With all due respect, I understand this is your forum, and you have the right to do whatever you like with it. It's an awesome forum! I merely view things from all angles... I don't pass judgement, nor do I point fingers. I merely examine the facts AND the fiction, form MY opinion, and give other users the opprtunity to decide for themselves! I DO NOT, nor will I, ever try to FORCE my opinion on you or anyone else. I only wanted to point out that Osama Bin Laden, who is said to be responsible for the most horrific display of Terrorism in US History, was no longer wanted for those crimes! I just want to know WHY? And I want other people that may not be aware of that fact to be informed. Have you even watched the link? The link doesn't point the finger at anyone, it merely brings light to more questions and information allowing you to form your own opinion about the incident! We all owe it to the fallen victims and their families to INVESTIGATE ALL LEADS!!! WAR is big business and my country is going broke! My friends and soldiers are dying and the biggest thing on my country's mind is the cost of gas rising because of a storm! I do this on SEPTEMBER 11, a day that will forever be etched in my mind, and hope to spark a fire in your soul to know the truth. Don't turn a blind eye to the situation! Get ALL of the facts, even the ones you don't want to hear, and let's do something about it! If you feel this post will cause more damage than good, by all means, "HIDE" it, but remember, you can't hide the HOLE at Ground Zero, nor the hole in the hearts of the people that lost someone close to them on that horrible day! God Bless the Victims!

Wow, now that I know that this topic was "HIDDEN" to avoid controversy, it makes me wonder how many times negative comments about my projects have been "HIDDEN" to protect my feelings or avoid contraversy. Freedom of Speech! As long as it doesn't cause controversy...

My heart mourns for those 2,794 men & woman who stood victim to the attacks of September 11, 2001! We Will NOT Forget! If you go to this link, http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/terrorists/terbinladen.htm, Why is Osama Bin Laden NOT wanted for the attacks on the World Trade Center? If we can find Sadam Hussein in a hole in the ground, why can't we find Osama Bin Laden? You decide... Perhaps some of your questions can be answered by watching this ... http://www.nosmokewithoutfire.co.uk/watch.htm God Bless the families and friends of those lost in this tragic event.

Wow Art! That looks awesome! I really like the concept. I wet-formed a bib a while back, but had no pockets or anything. Just a straight bib with some carving! I may try something like this in the near future. Who woulda figured? Leather Artist AND Presidential Candidate!
-
Good morning Art! The front panels of the saddlebags are going to be sewn in place. I tried stretching the leather but there was too much leather bunched up there on a very visible edge. I'm going to stamp the background on those front panels to give protection to the front edge and also break up the pattern a bit ... PS - You've got my vote!
-
Ok, Update time... Finished wet-forming both saddlebag lids and 3 of the seat panels before assembly... The last picture is a rough idea of the final assembly... The seat panels are all in different stages of drying and will dry to same colors as saddlebags... Oh yeah, the backrest is also wet-formed and waiting... More as it develops...
-
Well, as planned I was able to get one saddlebag wet-formed yesterday. I'm really getting excited to finish this project. The customer wanted that "WOW Factor". I think he'll be pleased.

Thanks Wolvenstien! I sure will! Today, I plan to mold one (if not both) saddlebag lid covers so I can finish the backgrounding and start punching holes while I mentally prepare myself for the stitching marathon I am about to embark upon! I was going to start stitching yesterday but my buddy, Jim Beam, stopped by and we talked for hours ... I did manage to get the backrest done... and both saddlebag lids... I haven't backgrounded the lid covers yet. I want to mold the lids then I'll know exactly where the lid edges are.... I only plan to background a small section of the lid cover. The rest of the bag is just plain leather with no carved details. I'm going to lace a design between 3 conchos on the sides... but that's a topic for another day.... Have a SAFE day! And remember, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE! You might hit a bump and spill your drink!

Tom, Man those are killer! I LOVE the Red/Black look! I'm going to be recovering my own stock seat cover very soon and it just so happens the MY BIKE is Candyapple Red and Black Raven! My friend, you have inspired me! Thank You!

LB, We'll see you and the Mrs. for cocktails and BBQ on Monday! Tom, Thanks man! Yeah, I planned it all out. I've been working with the owner of this scooter for weeks getting it all together. He's been looking for someone to fix his old leather for months. I did a seat for another guy about 6 weeks ago, he saw it, and the rest is history! I carved both saddlebag lids and the passenger backrest yesterday. I'll be starting to stitch it all together today! And, Tom, I've seen your work bud, and you don't look like you'd do too much head scratchin'! You do nice work! Brad, I'm going to highlight it with Timber Brown. No other color... I'm using RED thread to sew with and RED and TAN Suede lace for some very minor details.... Grumpy, Yes, I did use the original seat cover as a pattern. The original cover was made of marine vinyl and had stretched out. I disected the original cover at the seams, then I used BLUE PAINTERS TAPE to tape the old pieces to posterboard, then added 1/2" for unforseen boo-boos! Thank you ALL for your words of encouragement! I can't wait to get stitching later today! Everyone have a safe holiday weekend!

Sorry I haven't been participating as much as usual. I've been tail deep in a new project. I started wrapping a '92 Harley Electra-Glide. * Two-Up Corbin seat * Hard Saddlebags * Tank Bib * Luggage Rack * Passenger Backrest I have the Seat panels all carved and ready for stitching. Here are a few pics: Whatcha think? I'll post more pics as they become available...

Ok, if this post offends anyone, please forgive me in advance! For those people that dangle the proverbial "I've got friends" carrot, Tell your friends to give you some money or help you pay for it. Stop jerking my chain. If you have friends that want some work done, as soon as they pay me, I'll reward you! Until then, you pay full price. I'm not hiring you as my agent nor do I want charity work from you. Can you imagine calling your electric company and telling them, " look, I really need this electricity, and if you give me a break, I know lots of other people who need electricity! I'll send them over..." Stick to your guns Shirley! You do amazing work! And that "vet-run" should be honored to wear an item that a true american craftswoman hand-made for them! That same veteran that's on a fixed income probably drove their Cadillac CTX to the shop .... Come on, I'm a veteran too, but I don't think the world owes me anything! I did what Idid for the love of my country and freedom! Not so i could get discounts on cool stuff! Again, If I offended anyone, I am sorry... And if it hurts your feelings, you're guilty too ....

That's simply astounding ! Woah!

Anne, I didn't know about your daughters condition and will hold her in our hearts and prayers. With modern medicine and the technology we have today, she will be in good hands! My younger brother had cancer when he was very young (8 years old) and lived at St Jude's Hospital in Memphis for over a year. The Dr.'s didn't hold much hope for my brother. Said he was too young, too small and frail. That was 30 years ago and my brother and I still laugh about it. Yes, he made it thru just fine, and with a little luck, lots of prayers and a strong will to live, very good things happen. God Bless you & your family in this time of need and our Prayers are with you! If you need a shoulder to talk to, don't hesitate! Mine is here for you and any other of your family members!
