  1. ok,the adler can sew alittle over 1/4" & might be a good machine to have around for certain small jobs, but it has a top foot type of feed the pulls the leather through & these feet have teeth on the bottom that can mark the leather, that's why they are called shoe patcher they were made for patching shoes were the teeth marks aren't an issue. Bob
  2. Yes,I would say that's a good price BUT since you didn't mention what you want to sew I can't answer if this will work for ytou.Try doing a search for "shoe patcher" & that will help you. We do carry the parts ,needles & thread for them. Good Luck, Bob
  3. I knew you could get it going. Now as long as everything is tight & you always thread & put the needle correctly you should be having problems.(you hope) Bob
  4. here's the arrows Steve is talking about. Bob
  5. On the larger of the 2-gears underneath, loosen the 2-screws just alittle(one is in a groove) & move the gear left or right to advance or retard the timing. Bob
  6. Chris, I'll have to agree w/Anne Bonny,I just checked the hook ring from our Cowboy 2500 in a 45K25 & it looks like it might fit with alittle grinding were the pins mount. Let me know if your still need one. Bob
  7. Ok,now tilt the head back, look underneath on the right side is a belt it should be made out of string w/metal cleats on it, this belt stretches & can jump teeth on the cog that it's supposed to run, then your machine will be out of time.So look @ it & see if it's loose. Bob
  8. Yes,it has a clutch.
  9. I don 't know how the new Husquarvna will hold up sewing thicker leather but can tell you maybe you need to look around for a machine like DoubleC has they were one of the best built home machines you'll ever own. They are like a mini 31-15 pretty much sew what ever you get under the foot.Use #69 thread with no problems.I've sold alot of them over the years. You can usually find them in thrift shops, flea markets & etc. Bob
  10. Good pics,I don't see anything wrong.Look @ your hook(the outer parts of the bobbincase) & see if it's turning when you turn the machine.
  11. Yes,a pic might help. Bob
  12. Are you threading the needle from left to right & are you turning the handwheel towards you?I know these are very simple but we have to start somewhere. Bob
  13. I think you mean 144w204,they are a great canvas machine & can use up tp#346 thread but they won't sew real heavy,in leather maybe close to 1/2" ,they do have a nice lift under the feet of a good 3/4"+,they also use the 7x3 or 794S needle. Bob
  14. Pfaff 145,545,1245,Adler 067,167,267
  15. Marc, Yes,the Juki 563 or 1541S will work,so will Singer 111w152,153,154,155,Consew 225,226 255.Ebay is a good place the get machines as long as you can drive to them & pick it up,I get alot of calls were machines get damaged in shipment do to improper packing. Good Luck, Bob
  16. If you want to give me a call tomorrow I can find out the price of feet from Pfaff, what did you need the standard feet or? Bob
  17. Lee, Try to tighten the top tension a turn or 2 & see what happens. Bob
  18. I checked it out & it looks like a very nice site. Here's one of the general sewing machines groups on yahoo; wefixit@yahoogroups.com Bob
  19. Well wouldn't it make sense that all you did was rethread it & now it's not sewing? Was there anything else you did?Are you sure your threading from the left to the right? Bob
  20. Before you try to sew you need to pull the bobbin thread up through the feed dog, then when you start sewing hold on the the needle thread for the first 3 stitched.
  21. I would guess since all you did was change the thread & got a rats nest that you didn't thread it properly through the tensions discs & you do not have any thread tension so that's what any machine will do wad up underneath.
  22. Ok,there's 2-gears & doesn't one look smaller than the other? This is the one w/2-screws you had to loosen to get the hook out.Know on of the screws on this geat is longer than the other, the longer one fits in the slot of the shaft on the hook.If you don't know what the slot is look @ the old hook .You can if it's not right because the screw will be sticking out of the gear more than the other one.
  23. Did you take or let the small gear fall out?If not then maybe you need to put the slot in the other set screw.
  24. I hope you know that Pfaff 145 have a very limited lifespan!Unlike the Cowboys we sell. LOL-just kidding! They are great machines & we have the parts, needles, feet, thread & etc in stock for it. It sounds like a great machine. Bob
  25. For $20.00 that's a great buy,you can still do lighter weight sewing with #138 real easy which is alot smaller than what your using. If you want to PM me your address I can send alittle sample of it. P.S. We just got back from AA a few minutes ago. Bob
