  1. Here's a pic all the little spring does is keep the fish hook little part against the collar so when you turn it backwards to re-engage the clutch it pulls on this part, when it's missing use your finger to push it against the flat spot on the collar. Let me know if you need anymore help. Bob
  2. Glen, Yes,the knob on top is for the foot pressure. This machine is better suited for sewing upholstery & canvas than leather due to the feet & feed dog s marking, yes, you can work with it & make it better BUT you might be better off getting a compound walking foot needle feed. HTH Bob P.S. years ago I used to sell these new & they are a good machine.
  3. Ok,with the size 69 if you want a nice fine looking stitch you can use a #16
  4. The needle size is determined by the thread size? That's why we have the chart. http://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html
  5. Singer made these numbers up years ago to ID the different points like the longer 135x17 (round point) chnges to 135x16 for a leather point. THEN to confuse the issue even more there is different types of point like right twist, left twist, narrow wedge & the one most people like to use in this type is diamond point it will make the best looking stitch. The twist points will give you a stitch the looks zig-zag & diamond point runs in a straight line. HTH Bob
  6. x5= round point,x8= leather point Bob
  7. The leather point needle is 135x8 & if you can't find them in your area we have them in stock any size you might need. Bob
  8. You can't beat the price, but as James knows it won't be quite heavy enough for the tack, you should handle the belts ok. At least we have the parts in stock for it. Let me know if you have any questions about it. Bob
  9. Kevin, Here's a list of everything w/prices & pics that's available,(it's on our website) http://www.tolindsewmach.com/cb-acc-pack.html Bob
  10. I'm glad to hear you got it going. Bob
  11. Lift up the end plate over the needle bar & you'll see the screw that holds it,loosen & drop it down 1/8"
  12. You might try to hold the needle down about 1/8",tighten the screw & see what happens, this will let you know if the needlebar got pushed up.
  13. Try to tighten your foot pressure alittle more. Bob
  14. Chris, Sounds like he must be having a bad day.I'll be glad to help you. Give me a call. Bob
  15. Hello, The material they used was cork & if you want to give me the inside & outside dimensions we might have a new disc in stock. Bob
  16. Thanks for that. Did that go on in place of the feed dog, or was it a separate part? I'm guessing it went on with the slot perpendicular to the needle travel? YES The 97's came with one, they were only a needlefeed machine w/a jump foot & they had different sizes too.It mounted different on the 97 but the same principle, the biggest difference is the feed on the 97 just went front to back & the 441 also goes up & down so there's not alot of room for error when making one for a 441. The machines Ferdco put these on had a jump foot(where the needle only is feeding)& the foot lifts, the 441's have the center foot that goes back(and help pull) with the needle & I really doubt if there would be much benefit in using it. Bob
  17. Lightweight zig-zag or straight stitch, can use up to #92 thread, sews 1/4" or alittle more.Parts are still available for it & we have alot of the common items in stock. Bob
  18. I knew I had a pic of the guide on a 97-10 it just took me a while to find it. Bob
  19. I'M pretty sure this model has auto-oil if so keep looking. Bob
  20. Lo varato sale caro. (The cheap comes out expensive) Isn't that the truth!! I've had people with 4-5 machines all some cheapies they have some $$ into & then when they find out they don't work they want to trade them in for what they paid for them & most of the times I don't want or even have a use for them. So if your going to buy used you have to be careful. HTH, Bob
  21. The Seiko would be easier (over in the US) for getting parts,so I would go with it. Bob
  22. There is a Juki Model#450 a lightweight high speed machine that has a walking foot.If it is this model it might be heavy duty enough for sewing maybe chaps,it doesn't make a very long stitch & will not take any thicker than #69 Nylon thread. Bob
  23. No,it won't work ,it's a machine made for high speed sewing in lightweight material like drapes, shirts,& use small thread. It might sew alittle over 1/4" of leather with # 69 thread. HTH, Bob
  24. Looks like a Singer mod#12 to me,I have on @ home I'll have to post a pic of. Bob
