Thanks Ron for the help. I have struggled with the basket weave for some time. I got it where it looks "OK" but lots of work to go with it. I kept your instructions and I'll practice with this....just maybe. lol Your work really looks nice.

Transition from home-based to small retail space?
LarryB replied to faceOdd's topic in Marketing and Advertising
Good luck Tammy. I always get excited when leather workers open a shop... but on the other hand its a sad time when they say they closed the shop. So now you have us all excited for you...so keep us posted on how it goes. -
I like the face with the teeth on the side. Gives it class lol great work, drac

Thanks for showing this. Where do you get a set of files like that? This looks like fun, not that I am that good at working with metal.

I did the same as you once and yes the leather looses alot of the tooling. So now I only do it once and spray it lightly as I tool it, when needed. I have covered it at my desk for the next day but don't do it to much and it does not loose near as much. Hope this helps. Maybe some of the others can help to because I only did this once and didn't do it again because of what you said happened.

That turned out great. So clean looking and I like the designs. -
I use isopropyl alcohol .. not sure if it is the best to use but I live near a walmart and its easy to get and cheap. Otherwise its a 30 min drive to downtown st louis, ST Leather or a 40 min drive to the nearest tandy and normally can't wait that long or spend that much on gas. whew...got that all out, now need another cup of coffee lol

Ecoflow satin shene
LarryB replied to Walberan's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
I do the same to anything I coat. It just avoids any problems like this. I'll put a real light coat on and let it sit for a couple hours then spray on a little heavier but not real heavy. Has been working much better for me. I Have not used the new eco line yet though but I don't think it will be a problem....but who knows. -
Welcome Denis. I am sure you'll enjoy it here. Lots of information that people share... and I find that great.

I'll look forward to your interpretation of this piece. lol It's only a 1" x 9" strip with a few punches. YOU CAN DO IT!!! haha no.... to old here can't see that good anymore lol The band is great looking though.

Green beer day
LarryB replied to Kevin King's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Very nice Kevin... The sewing and your creativity is really something. I am still struggling to sew a straight line with my sewing machine, let alone the designs that you do. Love to see a video of you working on a wallet. But thanks for sharing... some more great work by yourself.
