  1. Just used a scribe line should have used a stitching channel. It from Al Stohlman Art of hand sewing and making cases books.
  2. Basket weave dice cup lined in felt. I really am liking making these.
  3. I get mine from W/C. I like HO but as a hobbiest/crafter, can’t justify the 10 side minimum.
  4. A friend wants me to make a strap for his wife’s watch as she keeps breaking the buckle at the pins. It’s a 10mm buckle and 12mm at the watch. How thin does the leather need to be? And can I use a 3/8 buckle? Basically a tiny belt buckle? Yours looks nice. Interesting with just the 1 hole.
  5. What’s the back look like? Also if you tell what your process was people can give better advice. Practice your stitching on some scrap that jumps out at me. I like the design and colors.
  6. Thank you. The stitching on the bottom isn’t to bad. The big problem is no spacing marks to shoot for so you have to go slow. Or it will go wonky fast. Lol
  7. Thank you. Since the one on the right is for a bar for”Shake of the Day” I figured black on black was best so it didn’t get “grungy” lol
  8. Finished up the dice cups for my brother. These are 10oz. Bottom stitching is better than the last one but still not as nice as I would like.
  9. It looks like a “plug” to me. Nice tight work.
  10. My brother asked me to make him a couple dice cups. Never doing any cylinder work I used some 5oz scrap to test out on. A few things will do differently in final projects. The worst looking part is the stitching on the bottom of the cup. Using Al Stohlman’s “Art of hand sewing” the side of the cup was marked with a wheel and bottom left unmarked. A fair amount of the stitching went wonky on me. The book says the stitching will be closer together on the bottom than the side because of the smaller diameter. I’m thinking about trying to mark the bottom and see how that works.
  11. He also has a video on how to stitch thick stuff with chisels if I remember correctly.
  12. I have a Badger 105 that I like a lot. Needed to get a $5 adapter to use the HF hose and compressor but the brush was only $65.
  13. Did you look in the motorcycle sub section? There are people who specialize in motorcycle leather. Most chrome tan leather would be to flimsy for bags I would think. If you glued 3oz veg tan to the back side it would firm it up and give you the “body” for the chrome tan to hold its shape better. And I’d put Aussie,Sno Seal or the like on the veg tan to help make it more water resistant.
  14. Pull the dot snaps. They only open one direction.
  15. Cut out some new straps and oiled and suntanned them. Also like the copper snaps with the natural leather.
  16. I believe she also sells a reasonably priced skiving knife.
  17. Haven’t built that yet.The holster was kind of an experiment. Lol
  18. Ye I’ll probably change them. Oiled and sat them in the sun and didn’t change the color one iota.
  19. Looks great other Matt! I have used his patterns before too. Instead of punching round holes I used my diamond awl and punched each hole individually. Lol That took a few minutes.
  20. I made myself a holster for my new 1911. 5oz and 3oz Wickett and Craig laminated together. Used a @JLSleather Avenger pattern slightly modified as it’s a compact not full sized. The belt loops are off a different leather so didn’t darken as nice as the holster. 5spi with 1mm Tiger thread. Left natural.
  21. I miss read the the post. Have no info on Square other than my wife says she wants one just to say to people. “ I take cards.” Lol
