  1. Making a belt. 7/8 outside 4/5 lined. Do I skive the buckle ends before I laminate or after?
  2. Yep its all hand sewn. And it's 7/8 outside lined 4/5. Billets are single 7/8. I figured I could get better results on the main body by finishing first then sewing. It's for my dad. 54 inch long belt. He wanted a very big contrast in the stitching. Next time probably line afterwards. And the loops are 1". All measurements taken from the Will Ghorman pattern. Never made anything like this before. I have done a few avenger style and pancakes from patterns. Mostly been doing wallets and pocket protectors. Big learning curve on this one.lol
  3. Finished up. Cartridge loops got a bit wonky on me.
  4. Yep sorry was meaning to type predyed but wife was talking and typing and listening is not something I do well.lol
  5. It's straight off the Will Gormley pattern. The main belt is 2.25 wide and the billets are 1.5. The holster is prefinish W/C skirting. I've made a few holsters from it. It's veg tan. Got it from Jeff at JLSleathethere. It's what he uses. The belt pieces are HO I dyed.
  6. Thanks. Arms and hands are a bit sore stitching and burnishing.lol
  7. Made this for my dad. Sister got him an 1873 clone and he wanted one in black and white. Still have to put the cartridge loops on it.
  8. Stick one on your eye and see. Seem to small to me just tried it. Eyelashes hit it. A baseball might work as a form.
  9. Yep the good old one size fits all. But never really works that way does it? Lol
  10. No help for you but that just plain sucks! Good luck to him and you.
  11. As stated in title is a IWB holster BASICALLY a pancake style holster with no belt slots and clips, straps or whatever you prefer mounted in place of the belt slots? Thanks,Matt.
  12. Bruce Cheany has YouTube video of a custom blade for clicker knives.
  13. I shave with the double edge ones. They are OK but the Persona ones are sharper.lol. Best I can do for you.
  14. 1 for 6 spi works for me. At 8 spi it looks chunKY. I'm new to leather but that's my observations so far. I'm looking for a 10 spi wheel or iron for some .06 I have.
  15. I THINK Tandy has a set if I remember right .
  16. Well when I tried Fiebings Oxblood it turned pink........ lol
  17. JLSleather has a directions on how to make a pattern for field notes and stuff. it gives a pretty good breakdown on adding for this and that. Works for a bunch of stuff I've tried.
  18. I'd try posting this in the dye and chemical sub forum. There are a lot of guys doing general work that can maybe help you. Best I can do for you.
  19. I made a stitching pony with a piece of Cedar fence and a 4 inch piece of 2X4 and 6 drywall screws. I use a clamp to keep closed. Not pretty but works. Also don't forget to wrap ends of pony in leather so you don't mark up your leather.
  20. I made some wallets last week. The suggestions were to line with light leather or slick down with gum trag. I am trying the lining process now. Also got some gum trag too.lol. Don't know if that helps you or not. I am new to this too.
