  1. I use Tiger but I tap down stitching with a hammer. Hand sewing and pull tight. Don't use a Grove usually just a line. Not sure if that's what your looking for or naw.
  2. I've useful denatured and isopropyl. Bikermutt uses water. I thing Fiebings will take just about anything. Lol. Try a sample keep records of dilution percent.
  3. I'd make up a care sheet to go with each holster. How to break it in, do's and dont's. And contact information for questions.
  4. Nigel Armitage did a review of Slam. It's comparable to Tiger apparently at about half the cost. Tandy needle eyes are HUGE though.
  5. Sound like it will make it nice and soft. Not how I like my holsters but hey each there own.lol
  6. Oh btw it comes in Tan,Black, and Brown. It has a slight pull up to it too.
  7. Tandy Montana side. 5/6 Oz. It comes dyed and is veg tan. Think going on sale on the 14th for $80 if I remember right. It's very soft.
  8. They are using Angelus dye. I don't know if you cut it like Fiebings. Inquiring minds (me) would like to know that.lol
  9. I love barge cement. And dont mind the way it smells.lol And Tandy has it in little tubes.
  10. Tote bag did up for a customer/friend from High School from a pic out of a magazine. She wanted the flat side of the copper rivets on the outside. I like them the other way but hey. Gits ta do what they want right?(within reason and ability)
  11. A scratch awl is round so it won't give you the angled stitch. A lot of people will use the round awl for Going around a 90 degree corner though.
  12. No expert but you would have to get the old edge off first. The use the Tandy edge paint made by Fence. There are a few post here on site about using it. I have a cheap variable temp wood burner I use to smooth and melt it. It will take a few coats sanded and/or melted it.
  13. Plywood and water don't mix well from my experience. Seen a few things made with molds and it seems most people just use solid pieces of hardwood. That's all I got.
  14. I think the chisels would be easier to use. They look cumbersome.
  15. His glock 43 works for Lc9s. Just have to move the stitch line add bit on the trigger guard side.
  16. They have these on Ebay. Didn't dig to far in looking to see different sizes.
  17. If im not mistaken they make Concho snap adapters not sure if that's what you used. ie strap on wrong side..... only if you tell people otherwise it's your design. Lol. Keep on keeping on. Matt
  18. New myself but I would try putting some denatured alcohol in the dye and mixing it up good and give it another try. Alcohol evaporates and you probably have Super concentrated dye. I know tattoo ink does the same thing when the base the pigment is in evaporates. Worth a go anyways. Denatured alcohol is cheap dye ain't. Lol
  19. I saw where someone had turned a old wood knife block around and drilled holes in it. That would work nice for a LOT of tools. For hanging stuff peg board is still king.lol
  20. Just cut it out of the side. It was fairly soft. Cut a corner off that was messed up and checked if it stamped and burnished. Put some water on it soaked in and darkened. So I figured need to put a water resistant finish as its going to be a tote bag. The dye is all the way through it.
  21. I bought a Montana side from Tandy. Predyed all the way through. It's veg tan. Burnishes, stamps, doesn't repel water. SO...... I put a coat of Aussie on it used a little heat and time but it doesn't soak in OR wipe off.Its been 12 hrs now and you can see where I've wiped my finger across it. Also trying to buff it off seems to have taken the grain of the leather away. I'm just not sure what to do next.
  22. Don't have any 4mm. So don't know how it would look. Only one way to find out is to try it and see if you like it.lol That's how I found out I didn't like 1mm thread in 3mm stitching irons.
  23. Sorry 0.8 not .08. In mm. I use 1mm on 5 or 6 spi (or the stitching irons closest to that) 3mm iron 0.8 thread. 5mm iron 1mm thread.
