  1. Most upholstry and leather garments are made from chrome tan.
  2. Sting ray. Not sure which species probably need tin snips to cut it if it's real and embossed cow. Lol Expensive too.
  3. It's saddle skirting. Most places have it even Tandy. It's 13 to 15 oz.
  4. I THINK. Jeff has one on his cutesy site as he calls it. Etsy.
  5. Friend collects belt buckles so I figured I'd make him one. Used a Tandy set for a pattern since I don't lace. $5 total investment. I can't seem to get antique products to look good so I colored his name then dyed with a 5 to 1 Fiebings Tan. Was a fun quick project.
  6. Looks awesome. And it's a lot of stamping. I would love to do a belt like that but still a bit ascared of messing it up. I actually like hand stitching them. Probably just have to go head and try it. Whatshould the worst that can happen right? Lol
  7. Other than wanting it cut down to get a hold of weapon. It's awesome. Looks like a tool case or phone case. Shouldn't draw attention.
  8. Scratch line as opposed to groove. Dividers or clamp a straight edge to scratch the stitch line. It's what I do but I'm fairly new to leather.
  9. They seem like they should be simple but the multiple layers always make the edges difficult for me to get a clean edge. Yours looks good to me. I made a black long wallet with that saying on it.lol
  10. I use 4/5 for the outside body and 2/3 or 3/4 for pockets.
  11. Thanks for sharing. I've used it to make a couple wallets. I use 3 oz on inside 5 oz on outside. Seems to work out good.
  12. Good idea! And looks like clean work. Production level might lead to a drinking problem though.lol
  13. I can use a S&W Shield and Springfield xd. If I'm not mistaken 9mm .40 and .357 Sig. In these guns are all the same size (outside measurement). Gotta start building a inventory lol. These seem to be popular carry weapons. Matt.
  14. Ian Atkinson has a review on this stuff I THINK. I know he uses it now instead of gum trag. And gets it through goods Japan.
  15. The triangle rivets are cool on bracelets. I have just don't a couple bags with the copper saddle rivets but I don't think you press them. Line 24 snaps are pretty popular I used on them on belt loops for iwb holster. Many color choices. They also have solid brass or copper double cap rivets as opposed to the Tandy ones. I'm part of the rambler club too.lol Matt.
  16. Tandy edge PAINT is flexible and the best choice for this application. Fiebings Edge Kote is flexible but wouldn't use here. And it's chrome tanned leather I'm sure so you can't use dye. There are a few videos online on how to use it. This is the wood burner I use. Tip depends on shape of what you are edging. Start at lowest team and raise if need to.
  17. They have plans for these out on the Web and in AL Stohlman books. They also have ones that clamp to a work bench. Have seen both for sale in the for sale section here.
  18. I'm kinda confused sorry. But you said it was to tall and rested ON your lap? These are designed to be UNDER your thighs while sitting on your most comfortable chair. The one in this post is actually a little shorter than I like.
  19. Probably a bone folder or a piece of Lexan.
  20. Singing dauber takes the fuzz off. It helps.Stinks like burned hair...... cuz it is.
  21. Also have seen videos of people using a bone folder on hand and machine stitching.
