Thanks. Showed a pic of the black holster at work and a guy offered $65. I figured a good price. -

Made a holster from a JLSleather pattern (adjusted a bit to fit). With W/C drum dyed black I bought from JLSleather. Thanks again Jeff.

Fiebings Oxblood cut 50/50 with denatured alcohol. Seems a bit pink to me.lol. Leather was cleaned with Barkeepers Friend and rinsed with water.Leather was still damp when dyed. All done with a sponge.(Cleaning and the dyeing) I will use as I was thinking of trying to make a pink holster BUT this was not the color I was expecting and dont know if it will duplicate on the next piece I try to dye.

My version of the pattern. Just gotta do the shoulder strap. Gonna make it like a belt. -
Ruger P85 Holster

Thanks for the advise. I have been wondering how to get the back stitching to look less obvious. I will give that a try. -
You can just put a bolt with a wing mutual on it or even a quick release bar clamp works too.

Best bang for my hard earned buck

New to leather work. My experience with tandy leather has not been great. Not even close to HO. Look up JLSleather on this site. He is moving and getting rid of some of his stock. High quality HO and Wicket and Craig. Also he has a lot of belt blanks. tooled and plain. He was selling HO bends for the same price as Tandy "European Bends" notice the quote marks. From all accounts he has good stuff and quick to ship. Free. I ordered from him yesterday. -
Cool beans Jeff. I just wish I could have gotten more! Matt.

I'm thinking Tandy leather mostly. Was dip dyed. Thanks btw. Trying to work out ending you stitching better. The back stitching causes it the look odd cuz it's double stitched. Using 1mm Tiger thread. -
Not overly happy with my dye job. Turned out pretty good. Thanks again Dwight for the help with the pattern and the guidance on a style of holster new to me. Friend at work asked for me to make it for him and he like it better than the Uncle Mike's he has been using.

Ditto. Same with the 7/8. -
Believe it on the super glue! First project needed it.lol If UK has something like a Harbor Freight you can get a lot of the smaller tools. Hammers razor knives chisels and punches to name a few. After get making a few thing you can shop around on Amazon for stuff you decide you need or want to upgrade a bit. I am new to leather but that how I am trying to go about it. Good luck. Matt.

It's a 8/9 Oak leaf double shoulder. They have a "European bend" but that's probably not any better quality. I'm getting a HO bend from Jeff at JLSleather. -

I wonder if put mop and glow or Resoline on edge if that would help.
